I finally finished my project for school:

This is the mock studio. It is done and I can turn it in tomorrow. It measures 20 inches by 20 inches.


View from the top: There's a room for manicures/ pedicures, a reception area, a waiting area, four stylist stations with the dispensary in between, four rooms for facials and waxing, a break room, two bathrooms and four shampoo bowls. Nothing fancy, but these were the lego pieces that were available to buy, so I had to get a bit creative.

The second picture is the view from the front. The doors are all functional as well and the chairs spin, just like real salon chairs.

I like the idea of the individual spots. Do notice that so many might not be doable on a starting level. If you have a customer base to load all those stations with enough emplyees to care for them, then you will be rockin. [/capitalist]

There is no spa and no hot girls lol

Four chairs seems reasonable, given whomever I hire must have a full book with them. My instructor always asks us if we plan on being the person behind the chair who is broke or rich. Meaning if you're broke, you have time to sit around because you have no clients. If you're rich, you always have a client in your chair. I plan on being the rich one, not the broke one.

My student loans are my motivation for this.

The goals in this order are:

1. Graduate in January 2017
2. Get hired on at a chain salon and gain "real world" experience for a minimum of 3 to 5 years. Also, this is the average amount of time a stylist normally takes to get a full book going.
3. Go back to school to get my Educator's license
4. Research and develop a tangible business plan for possible salon ownership/partnership, including marketing research (demographics, need for business, specialties, targeted age groups etc)
After all research has been conducted and it would look like my salon would be successful in the desired demo-graphical area, start to apply for small business loans and be able to show I have at least 25% of the start up costs saved up.

Where are the security camera's placed? (you know what I want you to say)

Well, if there was a ceiling on my model, the cameras would be appropriately placed in the office, at the reception area, outside the entrances and exits, and in the dispensary.

No - not in the bathroom. (thinking this is what you wanted me to say, but I could be so totally wrong)
