Does it really matter if it were "god-inspired", with the dirty shit contained therein? I don't think so. I'm not interested in worshiping douche god just because he exists and compelled some asshole to pay another person to write a story for his sorry illiterate keister. Da Vinci Code rates higher as literature than the quran, and Dan Brown's a fucking hack.........
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I don't know why anyone would expect deism to offer "guidance", since it's just two unsupported assumptions about reality. It's emotionally giving in to (or not understanding) logical fallacies; or perhaps just a comforting belief.
Men presuming to speak for God isn't guidance either, it's men basically writing in god mod font. It's people giving orders without having to justify them further than "God says so".
If you want real guidance, talk to the very real people around you and discuss ideas. Look for good examples of behaviour, and think how you can be a better person. If you haven't got a very rough idea about what are nice things to do to people and what are nasty things, you probably have no empathy. That is a problematic position, as it makes it hard for you to interact with society at all intuitively. You just have to decide whether you're prepared to obey some basic laws to give everyone a peaceful existence, or not. If not, you'll end up in jail most likely.
None of this has anything to do with God, or spirits. They don't help at any stage except to make false promises and to issue fake threats. If you just want to kiss the ass of a magical being, that really is an utter waste of the only life you'll probably ever have. And it will not help you with "morality", with regards to being a good person. Just being a good suck up.
