Yes, because all Muslims want to send you to the gas chamber.

Gathered as much. Uninformed and ignorant rightwingers aren't exactly new to this board or new to IRL. To mention all of this in one breath, can't lead to any other conclusion. I think, I said that before, but I find it highly amusing that your ilk takes their only information - for lack of a better word - from sites considering themselves holding up the christian tradition. An abomination of christianity, and I'm saying that as an atheist, but still.

Maybe want to reconsider calling yourself The Atheist?

The bible is very much both of those things, but the Quran leaves much less wiggle room for doubt. And it rubs it in your face right away. It is more of an effective indoctrination manual than the bible.

Maybe this has something to do with Muslims seemingly integrating less well (in general) than Christians.

The difference to me is "religion + power = Hell on earth"

Islam is fundamentally no different from Christianity in terms of moral values, the dislike of Islam is the result of political power. As I've said before, the reason there's such a backlash against Islam in the modern world is because it still holds a whopping amount of political clout and privilege wherever it is the majority religion, and often demands it where it is not. No other religion currently has this to the same extent, nope not even Christianity

There isn't such a pervasive dislike of Christianity in the 21st century because we're not seeing countries totally governed by Christian and Canon Law, with severe punishments. It's not a crime in most Christian-majority countries to mock Jesus or Mary (it is in a few, I'll give), but critiquing Muhammad is a crime in most Muslim-majority countries, and often with more severe ramifications. That alone says enough about the privileged position Islam has in many countries.

If Christianity was still burning people alive for Herecy in the 21st century we'd have "Christophobia", and it would be justified.

People also love to drag out this "colonialism!" argument as the be all and end all. If it was all about colonialism, we'd also have radicalised Native Americans, Vietnamese and and Hindus blowing shit up left-right and centre. It also has nothing the f to do with the human rights abuses inflicted upon practicing Muslims within countries goverened by Islamic laws. The problem is that neither the left or the right can seperate out the idea of a "political Islam" with it being a personal belief. Defend the personal belief to your heart's content, don't defend the backwards political system.

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable."

Probably because Muslims and Jews aren't pushing their faiths on us.

A little thinking goes a long way, Scrappy.

When you say us, do you mean the people who don't live close enough to large populations of Muslims for Muslims to push their faith onto them?

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Yes. I'm an American, as he is; that is my frame of reference here.

Oh, please, do tell. Where do 3 to 5 percent of any given population push their believes on the majority? What do you mean by close enough to large populations of muslims? The butt end of asstown? Or actually some country with a majority muslim population?

Oh yes, I can see the people converting to Islam. It's a clear an present danger, since it's so appealing.

It's kind of a thing, Scoob. You're telling me there aren't people who immediately hate or become fearful of someone who happens to be a Muslim? I'm not saying it's the ridiculous well-poisoning weapon the SJW community uses, but that doesn't mean it isn't an actual thing for certain people.

Quote:Where I live in Madison, the freedom for religion foundation doesn't ever go after Islam, but goes after Christianity. Doesn't really go after Judaism either for that matter. Why do the left and the atheists support Islam? Do they support the stoning of women who commit adultery, or throwing gay people off roofs? Do they prefer women have their clitorises cut off for female mutilation? Do they want to walk around in a halloween costumes or bee keeper suits known as burkas?

Might be because those issues aren't exactly a problem for the local changes they're trying to make. You might have reached that conclusion, if you'd thought about it for more than five seconds out of your butt-hurt zone.

I need to stop using the blanket statements, because they are just not true. I've seen a lot of stories in the news in the last five years specifically. The fact we have the term Islamaphobe which gets thrown around a lot. We don't have a term like that for Christians, but I guess we could start calling people antiChrists. Even blanket statements like that are wrong, and most majority of people in Islam, Christianity, and even Atheism are probably good people.

Even the term bigot which gets thrown a lot these days I think applies to pretty much everyone.

Full Definition of bigot

:  a person who is obstinately or intolerantly devoted to his or her own opinions and prejudices; especially :  one who regards or treats the members of a group (as a racial or ethnic group) with hatred and intolerance

I was asking a question, when thump said Muslims don't push their beliefs on us, when he says us, does he mean, people who don't live close to large populations of Muslims.  If so then that doesn't really say much about Muslims. It's like me saying bears are peaceful creatures, I live in England where the bears live in zoos.
