Oh no, a brokered convention that does not have the leader get the nomination historically hurts the party. I think the GOP is going after Trump now, not to win the general, but to keep the party alive.

I don't claim to be expert in interpreting American politics or political history so I'll accept this as written.
Does it mean they're going to go back to smoking cigars in back rooms?
I really don't want to see the Republicans disappear.  That would expose the sad fact that we really don't have much to choose from among our politicians.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat? Huh
