"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I've been to the London Madame Tussauds. It was.... interesting
Some people REALLY looked like themselves, others were like "That's supposed to be who?"

I like how they're called Goodbye Brother and Kill Them All and they're so similar, even though only the first one played during the infamous last scene from S5.

Interesting What Neil Gaiman wrote (I love his work as well). Although I agree that Martin is not our bitch, and he has the option of never writing another page for Game of Thrones if that is what he wants to do (or not do), the fans did not force him to announce that he was working on the next book. The fact that he comments frequently about how he will thwart fan desires tells me he is one of those people that has a love hate relationship with his fame. He loves the money, and hates that people then think he has a responsibility to do what he said he would do.
Personally, artists (such as actors, writers, singers, etc) DO have some responsibility to their fans. That is part of their job. If Martin pisses off all of his fans to an extreme, who has he got to blame when no one reads his next "series" because we all know he won't bother finishing it? If he makes a promise and then fails to deliver on that promise, why is he mad at the fans when he is the one that broke a promise?
He is onl hurting himself and his own reputation, yet somehow that is the fans fault....That would be similar to a butcher that sold the very best meat in town and was very popular, one day deciding not to sell ANYTHING, and getting pissed off that his customers don't remain loyal to him when he reopens a year later and tries to sell them pasta. All the while telling the customers it is their fault he no longer sells meat.

Yes, I read it. I just disagreed with some parts.

You ignored everything he said, not "disagreed" with him. You didn't show any disagreement, just a lack of understanding of what he said.

Since you seem to misunderstand my point, Ep, here is someone more eloquent than I. Basically, Martin is only harming himself and his own reputation with his delays and his attitude, but many are very apt to "blame" fans instead. As if we have no right to be disappointed or have nay opinion whatsoever on the situation.
http://www.wired.com/2016/01/george-rr-m...f-thrones/
Quote:But let’s face facts: At this point, Martin isn’t just disappointing fans—he’s screwing himself. He’s apologized profusely for his tardiness, and we’ve all accepted that apology. Some folks are upset, others just want him to. Yet the farther he falls behind the show his stories helped create—at this point, he says “I can’t tell you when [Winds of Winter] will be done”—the less relevant he’s going to become to Game of Thrones as a whole.
Quote:Not everyone will up and abandon Martin—in fact, many will surely wait him out. And, as he points out in his blog post, it’s certainly possible to enjoy books and their filmed adaptations simultaneously on different levels. But unlike finishing the Hunger Games books before their movie adaptations hit theaters, there is no recorded ending to theGame of Thrones saga in any format, and if they keep diverging fans will ultimately have to pick which one is canon—which one is theirs. If HBO gets to the end first, provided both versions have (relatively) the same ending point, that’ll be the finale that will resonate. And the longer Martin takes to release his version of events, the less likely it’ll be that his Song is the one people remember the words to.
I know it isn't a PC view, but I agree with this.
