If the god of creation chooses to damn most of the atheists on this board, it's his loss. For the most part, we are a decent, empathetic, charitable, hard-working group of people. If we're not whom he wants in his kingdom, I'll pass on being included.

Really you would pass on a life that is going to be so good it's not describable in any way man could understand. It seems to me the people who claim to be intelligent and want to learn would want to spend an eternity learning about the eternal God, eternal as in his being is so vast we can't ever learn everything about God. You would trade this opportunity to spend an eternity suffering in hell, no chance of learning anything new ever, I'm not saying hell is a fire and brimstone place, it's a place of regret and hate beyond belief.

Let me ask you this have you ever studied the Bible to find out what it truly holds and what it tells us about the eternal God of creation?

Your posts show no indication of you having a life so good it's indescribable. Serenity is not one of your virtues.

If you send me a thousand dollars, I'll make sure you get a billion in the thirty days following, which you can use to spread the Gospel. If you don't, a terrorist will blow up your house with you and your family in it. These are all things we know can really happen. Will you send me the money? If not, why not?
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I was made to memorize the wholly babble as a child.  I had to memorize a passage every day and recite it before dinner each night from the ages of 7-18.

Nobody can prove that an afterlife of any kind exists.  Heaven is just fantasy, and hell is a threat created by priests to control people.

What you said was,

Quote:No one can know how God will answer prayer so any study is just an assumption at best and yes I have seen prayer work and guess what your assumptions don't change a thing.

I don't think I have to add anything really as what you said was almost the definition of confirmation bias.

So what? Most religions and denominations have a confirmed track record of sex abuse of minors (and not exclusively minors). The only reason catholic church is such a transparent case, is because it's large, influential and has come to think itself invincible and therefore - became careless. But even though protestant communities may be better at hiding their dirty secrets and silencing the victims - there's still plenty evidence, that they're no better than catholics. And it's not surprising at all, since religious people are brainwashed to love their imaginary friends more than their own children and to automatically trust any c*nt, who associates himself with their particular brand of delusion.

I'm aware that sexual abuse goes on in most all denominations, I do know that the Southern Baptist have stood behind the law and reported case that were known about by them before the police did. I'm sure there were some cover ups locally but not by the SBC. I do believe those guilty should spend time in jail, actually I do not think any child abuser should ever be let out of prison. My personal belief is that these men were using their position to abuse children an were probably never Christians to start with. God warns people about misusing children and the punishment to come. There are bad apples in all part of society atheist included.

Irreligion and domestic violence
The irreligious have a higher rate of domestic violence (See: Irreligion and domestic violence). In addition, some of Europe's most secular countries have significant problems with domestic violence (see: Secular Europe and domestic violence).
For example, Sweden is one of the most atheistic countries in the world.[25] In Sweden, 81 percent of women said they had been harassed at some point after the age of 15 - compared to the EU average of 55 percent.[26] See also: Atheistic Sweden and rape
Research indicates that atheists are more likely to see illegal drug use and couple cohabitation before marriage as being morally acceptable.[27] A higher rate of domestic violence exists among cohabiting couples as compared with married couples[28] As noted above, atheists have lower marriage rates than theists (see: Atheism and marriage and Atheist marriages). According to the World Health Organization, "Interpersonal violence and illicit drug use are major public health challenges that are strongly linked."[29]

Godless Britain and child pornography
See also: Godless Britain and child pornography

On September 23, 2014, The Telegraph reported:

A nationwide investigation into internet paedophiles has caught more than 25,000 people suspected of viewing images of child abuse in this country.
Operation Notarise, which started this year, has led to 660 arrests. However, the National Crime Agency says that it will never be able to pursue all of those caught up in the inquiry, according to the Times.
The agency said that it was also looking at new techniques, including strategies borrowed from counter- terrorism policing, to identify and curb the activities of online offenders.
A spokesman said: “We cannot confirm any specific numbers. But we have previously said that we believe there are between 50,000 and 60,000 people in Britain who are accessing child abuse images.”[82]

Atheistic Czech Republic and child pornography/molestation
Věra Říhová in her article entitled The Czech Republic as a Paedophile Paradise wrote:

I would like to dwell on the statistics on rape and sexual abuse of children. The study shows that 6% of women have been raped once, and 5% more than once - most often by their own husband or partner. 7% of women and 3% of men were sexually abused as children. That's 528,820 Czech citizens (I have calculated this using the population statistics). Approximately one in twenty people were sexually abused as children, which is a very high number.
Why is the Czech Republic labelled a "Paedophile's Paradise"? That definitely doesn't mean that all Czechs are paedophiles. I think that the reasons behind it are the poor criminal investigation methods and the very low punishments, or more often offenders going unpunished. In the Czech Republic it is still believed that women are here to serve men, especially the older generation still accept the ownership of women as property. The rights of young children are totally neglected or even disregarded. Children are their parents` property and their rights stay silently on paper. Home Secretary Ivan Langer resolutely denied there are problems with child abuse in the Czech Republic and, with a few exceptions, no one is interested in child cruelty or abuse.[87]

In 2007, the Washington Post published the article Czech Bill On Child Porn Faces Resistance

When Austrian authorities announced in February that they had uncovered an online child pornography ring, pedophiles around the world suddenly became potential targets of criminal investigations -- but not the ring's 63 customers in the Czech Republic, where downloading and possessing such images is not a crime.
The videos, which show at least one girl who appears to be 5 years old and include on-camera scenes of girls being raped, are characterized by Austrian police as "the most brutal form of sexual abuse."
In all, Austrian police seized 1,132 DVDs, 1,428 computer disks, 213 videocassettes, 31 computers, seven laptops and 23 external hard drives. They passed along the computer details of more than 2,300 suspected clients of the site to law enforcement officials in nearly 80 countries.[88]

See I can play your little game too, I've just scratched the surface if you want more I can bring it. So let's say that too many people are getting away with this horrible crime.

HN Wrote:That's nice - but what does that mean? Would you condemn the institutional cover-up of sex abuse as well - or only the few kiddy-fiddling priests that got caught? And what would you do about it? Would you stop paying tithes? Change religion/denomination? Write a strongly worded letter to Vatican?

And what do you do to make sure your own church (whatever it may be) is not protecting child abusers? Let me guess - you do nothing, you just "have faith", that your particular church's officials don't abuse their largely unrestricted access to young hearts, minds and rectums... But guess what - not so long ago, that's what catholics though too.

I condemn all who are involved in sex crimes even if it happened in my church I belong to. No I would not change churches and I wouldn't stop tithing, neither of these has anything to do with the child abuse committed by an individual, are you going to become a Christian because atheist are involved in such things?
If I found out for certain that a member of my church was molesting a child I would ask that person to go and turn himself in and if that didn't happen I would. My wife and I care for a mentally disabled lady with schizophrenia, her age would be right for a daughter and I consider her just that and I can tell you if someone were to abuse her they better give their soul to God because their ass would be mine. Answer your questions.

Yes confirming your bias against Christians, my statement was true and not pointed toward anyone but the ones doing a bogus study they have absolutely no control over.

Christians have every right to be there. They don't have the right to infringe the rights of others. Same as atheists, muslims or whatever. Your right ends where it infringes the rights of others. So shoving your belief down everyone's throat isn't a right but a presumption.

For someone who can recite the entire Bible you sure do not us it to defend your position. God's proved it to me and many others.

Come on dummy, I was speaking of heaven. Can I consider this a contract, I could use a billion dollars, living on a small disability check doesn't allow for much, but I am grateful for what I have.
