I'm aware that sexual abuse goes on in most all denominations, I do know that the Southern Baptist have stood behind the law and reported case that were known about by them before the police did. I'm sure there were some cover ups locally but not by the SBC. I do believe those guilty should spend time in jail, actually I do not think any child abuser should ever be let out of prison. My personal belief is that these men were using their position to abuse children an were probably never Christians to start with. God warns people about misusing children and the punishment to come. There are bad apples in all part of society atheist included.

 I'm not wasting time, I'm giving you what you missed when you were younger. It's a personal relationship you can't earn it, it comes by grace, unmerited love. God's actions can't be measured, when you learn what eternity is as related to God, you just might get a hint. God shows himself through nature the nature He created and there are more atheist scientist who are abandoning atheism because they see the complexity of life isn't possible without an intelligence and they are referring to the God of creation. Like it or not science advancements are slowly putting evolution in the grave where it belongs.

Again, assuming we were born atheists. I'm not among that crew, though I have to admit, I never was a strong believer. But there are folks here, on this very board, who virtually got the fear of god hammered into their heads, bible studies included. And still they left. Most of us arrived at where we are by reading the bible, but not closing our eyes when reality comes to call.
