I'm familiar with the Brights movement, but personally do not want anything to do with it. I also don't recall anyone here self identifying as such.
@GC since you claim "you call yourself Brights" perhaps you could produce something to actually back up that claim? Or is this just yet another argumentum ex culo that you're so fond of?

Thanks for the argumentum ex culo. I needed a good laugh.
Never heard of the Brights, never got interested in any organised atheism for that matter. The only Brights I've heard of are the Bright followers in FNV.

I have always loathed the attempt to relabel freethinkers as "brights" and cringe whenever I hear it mentioned. I am content to leave the unearned chest-thumping and self-regard to the adults who believe in virgin births, resurrection, and their assured place in Heaven.

I'm sure that a huge portion of the human population would be interested in having verifiable proof of a god, or of an afterlife, or even that prayer gets measurable results. If you can't present any proof other than "god has proved it to me", then you're just wasting your time blowing hot air.
I'm not wasting time, I'm giving you what you missed when you were younger. It's a personal relationship you can't earn it, it comes by grace, unmerited love. God's actions can't be measured, when you learn what eternity is as related to God, you just might get a hint. God shows himself through nature the nature He created and there are more atheist scientist who are abandoning atheism because they see the complexity of life isn't possible without an intelligence and they are referring to the God of creation. Like it or not science advancements are slowly putting evolution in the grave where it belongs.
GC
I didn't ask you to attempt to CORRECT my thinking. I prayed fervently for 46 years. There was never any hint that anyone was listening.
Once you realize that you don't believe, it's pretty impossible to RE-believe. Even if I wanted to re-believe, I certainly would not give a second of "worship" to the god described in the bible. He is a VILE, reprehensible monster.
Yes, my parents once believed that all fossil evidence and evolution was the work of Satan. Then I actually studied science. Your "facts" about scientists abandoning atheism and "putting evolution in the grave" come from creationist propaganda SITES that desperately spout lies and pseudoscience.
Others in this thread have posted actual facts on the subject.
It's quite amazing to me that xtians think proselytizing is a good thing. This is an Atheist forum, it should be a place of safety, but no - - the idiot preachers converge here like ants at a picnic, disrespecting us, insulting us, telling us that we are stupid and deluded and we should listen to them.
Well, I can read. I can make up my own mind. My beliefs are none of your business. Shove your preaching up your ass, fuckwad.

I like their notion that scientists are "abandoning evolution" for Christianity, when in fact over half of the evolutionary biologists out there are Christians.
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love.

Yeah - and 1,5 billion of muslims "live and survive", because they trust that Allah is going to torch your infidel a*se, for sucking the wrong invisible c*ck. Many dumb people "survive", despite having idiotic, harmful, erroneous beliefs - what does that prove? LOL
What if you're wrong? What if your god is a false idol and every act of submission, servililty and indignity you put yourself through for that deity takes you further and further from the real god and salvation?
And guess what - I live and survive because I tell all the non-existent gods to lick smegma off of my d*ck. And so far - very good.

If you are not willing to learn the answer, do not ask the question.
My answer can come in the form of text or video. Most of your questions will require a lot of knowledge, so again, if you're not willing to learn the answer, do not ask the question. This is for people that want to learn the truth and not the average internet warrior that feels powerful by spitting out 20 unrelated questions thinking I am not answering because his questions were just so good.
No profanity or insults or blasphemy. Be respectful.
If you want to know who I am and my background just youtube: "Angels, Alchemy, Aliens, Demons and God - My testimony"
To know a little about me for the purpose of this thread:
1. I only read the textus receptus (King James Bible) and consider all the modern bible versions to be horrible frauds. Which they are, because they are based on the LXX manuscripts, proven frauds.
2. I have no denomination. I am a King James only, Salvation is by grace through faith alone without works, creationist, young earth Christian. I reject evolution with my whole being.
If you give me verses from the NIV, ESV or some other Bible that make no sense, I will ignore your question. Kjv only.
Let's begin. Hi,
Ok... you are a "King James only..." ...what? Why?

Now that you brought this up in another thread I'll answer it, you uncaring moron. No one can know how God will answer prayer so any study is just an assumption at best and yes I have seen prayer work and guess what your assumptions don't change a thing.

Yes confirming your bias against Christians, my statement was true and not pointed toward anyone but the ones doing a bogus study they have absolutely no control over.
GC As I said your statement was pure confirmation bias and yet you tried to turn it on atheists inexplicably. Your statement was to the effect that, god was unknowable, except you know it when I see it. You see "god" in things because you really really want there to be some validity to what you fervently believe. And that's fine, go ahead believe all the silly stuff you want. But you are here and are trying very poorly to convince us that your delusions are in fact based on reason, we call you on it and you get all shirty. Its vaguely amusing but a little sad.
