In my country, they(the government) apply religion and God in almost anything, so the other day, I was having chemistry lessons(I'm 17 btw) and there was small box saying that we have to be grateful to God for the creation of fats, that one line pissed me off so bad thinking who on earth would be dumb enough to write that, so back the question, what angers me? People who apply religion and God into science. I'm join the forum today in a way to release my anger and stress and feel free and I'm already enjoying it?

As an atheist, what angers you?

Welcome !!
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
Welcome Nick!
Man, how dumb is that. I bet they don't make you thank god for those worms that burrow into your eye. Feel free to send me a private message.

Welcome to the Forums! I was 17 when, as a Christian, I first began to realize a lot of that crap was... well, crap.
I'm now 39 (almost 40!)(Sigh.), and when someone asks me if I'm a Christian in real life, I tend to answer, "No, I am a recovering Christoholic. 22 years Jesus free!"
A Christian told me: if you were saved you cant lose your salvation. you're sealed with the Holy Ghost
I replied: Can I refuse? Because I find the entire concept of vicarious blood sacrifice atonement to be morally abhorrent, the concept of holding flawed creatures permanently accountable for social misbehaviors and thought crimes to be morally abhorrent, and the concept of calling something "free" when it comes with the strings of subjugation and obedience perhaps the most morally abhorrent of all... and that's without even going into the history of justifying genocide, slavery, rape, misogyny, religious intolerance, and suppression of free speech which has been attributed by your own scriptures to your deity. I want a refund. I would burn happily rather than serve the monster you profess to love. RE: As an atheist, what angers you?

There are many, many things that fuck me off, far too big a list to detail them all. Nevertheless, here are but a few:
You may refer to me as "Oh High One."
It isn't one religion that pisses me off. My species ability to be compassionate and non violent doesn't piss me off. That has always been part of our evolution. Our species inability to see our fellow humans as just that, fellow humans, is hindered by the club mentality religions cause.
I think it is delusional even on the part of atheists to think you can create a godless and religion free planet of 7 billion. I don't think atheists should be seeking a utopia either. Our species reality will always be messy and imperfect. Now having said that. I will ALWAYS be for scrutiny and debate and blasphemy of any and all religions worldwide. No religion deserves a pedestal. There is not one religion in the world, as an umbrella label, that does not have sub sects that compete as to the interpretations of that umbrella label. There has never been, or will be a perfectly unifying religion where no divisions exist. As an atheist, what pisses me off the most is male testosterone worldwide. What pisses me off is that I see so much good our species is capable of, but far too often we'd rather beat the shit out of each other to get what we want, than to use diplomacy and cooperation in spite of our differences. Religion has to be stood up to. Not because individuals in any religion are always bad, but because without that scrutiny those in it can create a mass with political power and weapons. Religion is the artificial excuse humans have invented to create social pecking orders. But the evolutionary reality is that those labels have NEVER made us a separate species. The planet is too small, there is no more room for anyone to expand or dominate. If our species is to collectively survive, our priorities have to move away from war and tribalism and global problem solving. NO, at least for me, that is not a call for a one world government. There will never be a utopia with 7 billion diverse humans. But we can collectively seek a more civil world where solving problems of poverty, pollution crime, and reducing global conflict, will benefit humanity long term. I will always value my species ability for empathy. I will never value the idea that that empathy has a magical or mythological source. RE: As an atheist, what angers you?

As an atheist I am angered by how prejudice religous people can be towards many different people because of who they are and what they identify themselves as. It is annoying to know that a lot of people are discriminated against (like atheists, homosexuals, and other) because religions don't like them. Just because some one is born different or is different doesn't mean they are evil people or should be shunned. Why must religious people be so prejudice?

Yes, I agree, which is why all the ABBA haters really fucking piss me off. I didn't form ABBA, I had no control over that. (Note to self, HELLO BRIAN, music taste not exactly the same thing dumbass) Nothing to see here, keep moving. Many of the prominent religions are very divisive and encourage discrimination in their vile texts. Welcome to the forum Feel free to send me a private message.
