Their vote only counts 3/5 anyway so why bother.

Why don't poor people vote?

Cap each candidate $1,000,000 to run their campaign with.
Limit the primary season to 2 months, starting in August. There is no reason in the world we need a year and a half to drag these people through the mud and start hating them for shit our best friends do. There is also no reason states can't all vote regionally with debates being the stumping. Having rallies at a college football stadium is not essential for learning which candidate to vote for. It also forces campaigns to release plans and debate those plans instead of the reality show that ensues after the 25th debate. Limit congressional/executive salaries and political donations to members in office to be capped at $80k a year, adjusted down for cost of living. Make the salary of a congressperson not enough to draw these people long term. Punish quid pro quo malfeasance harshly. Make lobbying illegal. Draw district lines by county lines or group of counties, or in large cities by borough or municipality. Get rid of gerrymandered districts. Vote on Saturday or Sunday. Tuesday voting is absolutely a burden on the poorest voters. Those who cannot miss a day of work or who work two jobs and don't have time to wait in line at the polls shouldn't be burdened more than the person who doesn't want to spend his weekend voting. Either this, or make Voting Tuesday a national holiday.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great
