It doesn't matter who's making the laws, but the law protects the rights of people who don't want members of the opposite sex to come into the room where they pull their pants down or their dresses up.  If it doesn't matter to you whether you use the men's or the women's restroom, why are you fighting the law?  Everyone comes out a winner.

I prefer the men's room because the lines are usually shorter.

Please clarify something for me.  When you speak of "transgender" people do you mean only people who have been physically transformed into the opposite sex?  Or do you include people who are physically one sex, but identify and dress as the other sex?

Both.

Bathrooms don't have magical powers to make a perp assault anyone. Most sexual assaults are committed by heterosexual men. It is a bullshit myth that hetrosexuals only rape or molest the opposite sex. Parents can and do molest their own kids unfortunately.

And outside that issue, parents are not always together and have to take their kid into an opposite sex bathroom sometimes. 

The bathroom issue can be easily solved with ground to floor stalls with no gaps to peep through. Outside that a business owner or public place can have cameras outside the bathroom doors in the hallways in case a perp tries anything. 

Sexual assault of an adult or child isn't about the perps sexuality, it is about power and control. Most rapes/molestations, happen in very low traffic places like a home or office or basement, and are mostly committed by someone the victim knew. A friend, neighbor, family member, or a person who has a title of trust, like a teacher, pastor, babysitter, uncle ect ect. A perp isn't going to have a look like a tattoo identifying that they are. 

This bathroom crap is simply fearmongering religious bigotry. 

Yea, even if the person still has the same plumbing down there, but identifies as the other sex and dresses as the other sex, it is still stupid to assume that person as an individual is looking to commit sexual assault. It is just as stupid when men assume a pretty lesbian want to have sex with them because they find her pretty.

I think sane people can quickly spot a perp in the moment if they see it, and know the difference when someone merely trying to take a piss.

I think they're doing it because they're trying to be politically correct and haven't really thought it through.  Plus you can talk about who supports it all you want and I can talk about who is against it.  That really doesn't make a difference  as to which is right.  Do you not care about the rights of women and girls who fear people with penises sharing public restrooms with them?

I have been creeped out by men in a bathroom before, but I also get creeped out by men even in public, depending on the individual. But most people don't frighten me in high traffic public places in any case.

With any crime in any case, not just on sex, but the criminal is going to either ambush you and you wont see it coming, or they are going to give you the image of trust to gain your trust. Bernie Madoff bilked investors of billions, wore a suit while he did it too. Just like we catch pastors and ministers and priests molesting kids or assaulting women.

Inside and outside sex, crime may have different motives, but for the criminal, it is about opportunity, and no one sex or class is crime free. Rooms don't have magic powers for any crime.
