Refusing to participate does not mean you get to wash your hands of all presidential politics afterwards.
If Trump gets elected, it will be entirely your fault, and the fault of weak people like you, who put their own feeling above the wellbeing of their country, and yeah, the whole world.
Pinch your nose and vote for Hillary, or else you could be the cause of World War Trump.
Yeah, Hillary is not a great choice, but Trump is much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much much worse!
If you are liberal or progressive and you fail to vote for Hillary, you may as well give your vote to a neoconservative psycho. Good job!

"Vote for Hillary...because boogeymen!" "You're a terrible person if you don't vote for Hillary!" "Unless you vote Hillary, you're a political Traitor!"
....."If -you- don't vote Hlllary.....WW3 will happen and it's your fault!".......................wait, what.... really.....
I'll grant the left this...the constant fearmongering is a much better campaign than the one Hillary's owners have paid for. It might actually work.

Well, saying Trump is equal to Caligula, then saying Hillary is unlikable makes no sense.
I admit I took it past the logical conclusion, but only to make the point that not voting does not make one suddenly lack responsibility for all following political consequences, and could be the opposite. If voting for Hillary makes a person feel responsible for her actions, then not voting for her, if it causes Trump to be elected, should cause that same person to feel responsible for those consequences.
I was just trying to point out the ridiculousness of the idea of trying to sidestep a voters responsibility in this situation by NOT voting at all

Whose sidestepping? My no vote is a vote against both and -for- a better America, lol.
I could vote Trump and benefit. I'm a native white male business owner. I could vote Hillary and benefit.......my wife is a native white female business owner....lol. I win either way, America loses either way. I'll still follow our laws, and support our country and our president -as an american- regardless of who wins. I still live here and own property here, and whatever consequence of either will still aply to me...and it's not as if I'm not aware. I just know better than to think that these ridiculous things the right and left are scaring each other with have any relationship to reality.
We never get more than we demand (or pay for), and we usually get a fair bit less....so maybe we should up our expectations and stop assuring them that they're doing enough to keep us pulling those levers and legitimizing their bullshit?

Oh, I didn't mean you, I meant the OP.
I do agree, America is pretty fucked either way. Honestly, I cannot make up my mind. A few weeks ago, I was refusing to vote for Hillary, but a few people reminded me of the probable Supreme Court justices being open in the next cycle, and I wavered pretty hard.
My own husband does not even register to vote because he is fully disillusioned with the entire system, so I fully understand even those that refuse to vote, for various reasons. I just feel that not voting so you can say it isn't your fault (again, not aimed at you, but at the OP), is a really selfish reason. Avoiding blame. pfft.
And yet, I will probably be guilted into voting for Hillary, but I'm not going to be happy no matter what I do. No vote? Does not seem like an option for me. Vote for 3rd party? Maybe, but since Bernie isn't going to run as that, no one there appeals to me either.
Rock and hard place does not even begin to describe how many Americans feel about it, but at this point, I feel defeating Trump is most likely the best we can hope for. : Not that I'm happy about that either. I'm FAAAR from a Hillary supporter, I think she's going to be a pretty poor representative, and a VERY bad choice for first female there, I'd prefer Elizabeth Warren, but since we aren't living in that fantasy land....

If there was a revolution of people on both sides refusing to vote, that would be one thing. But the crazies are going to come out of the woodwork to vote for that Oompa Loompa passing himself off as a man, so should we just let them take our country?? Because Hilary is unpleasant?
I don't know! It's terrible.

Sorry for getting personal. But you're an idiot. I haven't got a horse in the American race, but I know about elections where you seem to have no choice. Staying at home simply makes you the receiving end of every shit they feed you. A first class victim. Casting your vote on the other hand, however undesirable the alternative to the ultimate disaster seems, gives you a fighting chance of averting the worst.

What fighting chance? Our system has been completely co-opted.

I stayed out of it, so I would not be held accountable by your actions."
Bullshit. You're the reason we end up with Trump. Period.
I would not be the reason we end up with Trump. The reason we end up with Trump would be a direct cause of people who supported him. The same conditions go for Hillary, she's not too be trusted. If you think about it, Trump would the perfect end game outcome. Hear me out here; He and his party commit a major war crime or two. The worlds reaction to these charges become so fierce that the Republican establishment is crushed on it's own. These actions could lead to the conviction and execution of a U.S president and others. If my theory is correct, this will destroy a major political party and reduce the power U.S in terms of the military and finical sectors. This end game theory does have causality's, there would be a large collapse of U.S wealth, a lot American based company's would be brought down in terms of the embargoes. Life is America would become a nightmare, but there is a lot of positives to be gained. A new system could be born, whatever that system may consist of we would not know till we have a chance to unite it.
The system is beyond repair, the elite class has been in power for far too long and something needs to happen. People have said on this thread we can take our country back, not without the conspiring of a act of civil sabotaging your own country. We has a nation deserve better, we has population need to sit back and let the madness take it's course so we can emerge has a new and better country. Hillary would only be bandage to a deeper would that requires the limp to be amputated. I feel there no reason to betray my ethics for my state or my country. Although some of your words has inspired me, if my state allows their voters to write in a candidate. I'll write in Bernie Sanders, if my state does not allow it I'm staying home. I will not vote Hillary in anyway shape of form. Even if it means that Trump wins, I'll get to keep my ethics and not sell out for the country for choice I don't like.

So you've decided you're willing to have Trump as president. Thanks. This is why we can't have anything nice in this country.
Because I'm a fussy passive aggressive type of person. I want Sanders, if my state does not let me write him in I'm staying home.
