Simple.

God, we are told, is omnipresent. But if there’s a place where god does not exist, then he is not omnipresent. I don’t have to go everywhere in the universe. All I have to do is find one place where god does not exist to prove that an omnipresent god does not exist anywhere.

Actually... The bible says God is Omni Present as it pertains to creation. The bible clearly states that Hell is separation from the presence of God. That Hell is outside of creation and God does not reside there.

I was thinking more about my comments about the major religions. A lot of Evangelicals will tell you that they worship completely different gods. I'm saying not so fast. But I do agree Satan does actively seek to deceive by posing as the true God. Angels in the OT always look like normal people, whereas the 'angel' that appeared to Mohammed presented itself in a 'divine' form.

Yeah, Cherubim with four faces, angels that were intersecting spinning wheels, angels were so human-looking until Mohamed had that sit-down with Gabriel.

Ummm....I'm not so sure. In (2 Thes 1:7-9.) Paul seems to be saying just that. But what about Revelation 14:10? I think this is a case were all the relevant verses must be interpreted by the whole counsel of the Word. It would be very odd indeed if He didn't know the goings-on in Hell. What is clear is that people in Hell reject God's sovereignty and/or worship the Antichrist. God can still be present and eternally reaching out to people who are willfully blind to His presence and hardened themselves a to not receive His blessings.

Your thinking of hell in earthly terms not spiritual ones. Think more along the lines of those who 'burn' with lust and will not give it up even though it corrupts every part of their lives and 'separates' them from all the good things the could otherwise joyfully embrace.

Hell isn't apart of christianity, demons, angels, jesus, the devil, etc.

I will say the bible great piece of literature not to be taken literally.

Take a look at any culture's superstitious beliefs, whether rooted in religion or mythology, and one will find that the primary reason for having the belief in effect is to scare children into behaving. Growing up with the belief, the child becomes an adult and passes on the belief to his children.

Hell was created merely as a means to scare people into behaving.

I personally find that teaching children about jail and prison works perfectly fine, but what do I know. I'm just a heathen.
