"For the lord thy god is a jealous god among you."

Think of how you supply water to a 185,000 man army in a semi-arid region which could support at most a population of 10,000?

Then remember that armies have to eat, too.

Do you have evidence that it was semi-arid at the time of the chronicle?? or are you guesstimating based on what the region looks like now?

Petra 2000 years ago was a lush city that had exotic gardens, but now it is a completely arid waste land that can not support any life.

Perhaps leading to the city of Jerusalem that the Assyrians made their base camp there was, I don't know... maybe an Aqueduct feeding the city... Kinda a common thing for cities.. fresh water.. Especially if the city wasn't built on a river or lake, they piped in water even in those days...

And, Maybe just Maybe if you look at 2 Kings 18 verse 17 you would have seen this very thing, before you open your big mouth to allow me to help you put your FOOT in there...

Who says 'logistics' is not apart of what we do? Oh, that's right the feeble minded who want to make sweeping dismissals rather than have a topical discussion. Meh, I can still force a topical discussion even if it means making you look like an uninformed fool.

It's not okay.

That's what you say, but did Obama appologise for the Hiroshima attack (There was a reason I went with this attack rather than more modern examples) Obama was literally there in Hiroshima last week, and did not apologize for the targeting of women and children in Hiroshima nor tokyo... If this was not 'ok' then why hasn't the US made amends for targeting hundreds of thousands of women and children to end the war early?

I mean even the Japanese Company Mitsubishi who's primary role in WWII was to make aircraft Literally enslaved tens of thousands of chinese and just yesterday/today pledged to make amends to the surviving family members by cutting them a check for their family member's enslavement.

Do you see? A wrong was committed in that same time frame, "It REALLY Wasn't Ok" (Not just, 'It's not ok'/Your standard, ie lets just move on and ignore what happened) It was a, "It's not OK DAMNIT!!" Meaning we have to pay for our actions. Here is 18,000 dollars, and a letter of apology.

Do you not see a difference here?

You don't get to say 'its not ok' and live in an unapologetic/It really is ok way. This makes you and people like you a hypocrite, or does that not matter? That you have been shown that you say one thing and do another! You judge yourself and any wrong doing with a pass, but all other similar instances you judge wrong!

No need to justify god, but you do have a need to provide some evidence that he is not a figment of your imagination. Why should I accept your god and not zeus or allah or neptune or any of the thousands of other gods men have invented?

Tired Atheist argument #3. Answer:

People are not stupid. example? the list of failed gods you just gave. Each 'god' was tied to a specific society. When the society failed so too did the god. Why? because it was the society that gave the gods power. when the society fell the gods of that society could not full fill it's promises. So then with in a generation that god failed.

Full filled promises is the measure in which the viability of a deity is measured. This has been true since the first advent of any deity that has ever been worshiped. So then what does it say about a deity who transcends the society in which it was created? The Occam's answer is that enough people in that religion are getting what the deity promises. In the case of Christianity that promise is proof via a direct audience with God himself. So if you truly want 'proof' take God up on his offer and collect it yourself as that is the only type of 'proof' offered.

Of course we have evidence.  But again, it is too complicated for a little jerk who thinks that his fucking shitty bible is true.  Were I in the mood I'd dig it out of The Bible Unearthed for you but you wouldn't read it/couldn't understand it anyway so I won't bother.

Look it up yourself if you dare.

You know the reason the Dead Sea Scrolls survived is because they were hidden in caves in one of the driest spots on earth.  A spot which is less than 30 miles from Jerusalem.
Try thinking about that for a while.

So . . . you're a young earth creationist who thinks that the Garden of Eden, and Adam and Eve and a talking snake are literal? Because if you accept the scientific fact that the human race could not possibly have populated from a single couple only 6000 years ago (and then done it again after Noah) then you don't have the Tree of Knowledge, and you don't have original sin as described in the Bible. (Or the fun fact that the sons of the only two human beings on the planet went to the next village over to find wives.)

Of course, you could always ascribe original sin to something else.  I have heard some weird theories.  And sure, humans are naturally flawed creatures.

But then, I don't believe in gods, original sin, or an afterlife.  I'm just curious whether you're a literal creationist or not.

I think that christianity has the best historical case of any, but probably not conclusive. We do need the desire and the call of the Holy Spirit.

No. I'm not a young earth creationist.

apparently we do, or was their a war crimes tribunal held to prosecute General Le may for the fire bombings and President Truman that i know nothing about?

Le-May was recorded saying "If we'd lost the war we'd all be hung as war criminals." By this admission He knew 'we' would give him a pass for what 'had' to be done then.

https://justice4germans.com/2015/02/20/g...criminals/

This does not even address the women and children that we do indeed target as enemy combatants today. So again Why do 'we' get a pass. Meaning why does policy allow the targeting of women and children if it is such an ABSOLUTE Immoral thing?

Or are you one who believes only Men are allowed to fight for Allah? That ISIS only recruits uniformed soldiers, and that a woman or a child in the History of the war on terror has never raised a hand against any western culture?

The problem with you guys is that you live in a little box of ever changing absolutes, but treat them as being unchanging when you hypocritically judge someone out side of your little circle by them. You seldom if EVER judge yourself by your own standards. When you do you all are either shocked or deny your involvement/benfits from these supposed 'absolutes.'

I'm not worshiping LeMay or Truman. However if I did, at least they existed.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

What happened to the Mongols at Ayn Jalut, where they had to pull back the majority of their forces out of the region because of the lack of food, water or fodder and the remaing 20,000 get slaughtered by a coalition of the Mamlukes and the Crusader remnants.

One Word:

AQUEDUCT!

Look it up doofus, AGAIN, Since you did not read or did not understand my last post, 2Kings 17 puts the 185,000 men at a camp @ the Aqueduct feeding the city they were placing under seige. all God need do is taint the water supply and boom they all die.

That means it could be as dry and aired as needed for the dead sea scrolls, and yet still sustain a CITY worth of people!

How's that for Logistics old sport!
