LOL... A thing that doesn't exist, that can do things? Well - that's the best description of god I've ever heard...

This is preposterous like your big bang statement ... it can be proposed that something that is not existent can cause change, but such an extraordinary statement requires extraordinary evidence. please supply such
Note Professor Krauss proposes "something from nothing" not something from none existence .... big difference ....

I should maybe elaborate now I have cooled down .... you stated .... by the way I am kindly assuming you meant "can't" or I would really wipe the floor with you ....
Science presently proposes that particles, maybe even universes pop in and out of existence .... zealots such as Intelligent design apologists, which I assume you are, jump on this as somehow proving a "God".
Because something jumps in and out of existence doesn't prove that they came from non existence (even if it could that would not prove a God).
Where they pop in and out from is unknown as science isn't that far yet ...
Lets put this simply .... something can pop into a room and out of a room, where it pops in from and out from could be many places, not just from where would suit your fairy tale ....
If you or those you use as sources for "evidence" have empirical evidence that particles and or universes are popping in and out from non existence or the supernatural I congratulate you on your/their upcoming nobel prize.

Only a theist could take a paradoxically absurd mystery and propose an even greater absurdity is the obvious answer.
When you have actual evidence of a God, Chad, then you can talk. In the final analysis you have an imaginary puzzle piece that supposedly fits a poorly understood puzzle. These 'arguments' you bandy about are only convincing to the desperate and weak-minded.

Very clever rhetoric. I sure some will find it persuasive. Please remember that I have not yet presented any specific demonstration although I have, admittedly, alluded to it.
The issue at hand concerns whether a specific observation (that only actual objects can cause change) could be considered evidence for something. It is certainly evident to the senses. I’ve always thought that evidence meant just that: something, well, evident. I’ve never been bit by the dog my neighbor doesn’t have. Now maybe you have had different experiences of things that do and don’t exist. Maybe you can relate how one time you quenched your thirst with the contents of an empty cup. No?

So god is present in Hell, then? Interesting. I guess Hell isn't really separation from god then, is it? Also, how does he dwell with all that iniquity in Hell, since the Bible says he...you know...can't. Of there was a hell and GOD so chose to dwell there for whatever reason then It could. It could even go so far as to be there yet be unpercievable to the inhabitants.
