Strange that this god of theirs just sat there year after year listening to their prayers and did nothing.

Didn't answer them to let them know that he had no intention of doing anything.

He just sat there on his throne and watched this child die a long, painful and slow death.

Strange, eh?

And I'll bet you they still love and adore him.

If an adult refuses medical treatment on religious grounds, that's fine, it's just evolution in action. If they refuse treatment for someone who is unable to make the decision themselves then that's assault at the very least, possibly murder
Such thoughts are just plain evil.  Things are different in Canada.

Here in the US some people go ape shit crazy at the very thought of people having access to health care.  They are doing their best to kill it.  Yet no one is yelling about charging them with murder for depriving people of health care.  

Maybe the parents were trying to save the system money by not adding an expensive case to it.
