Human nature is constant where ever you live.  Ordinary people who know better will willingly allow themselves to be abused because they like to be dominated.  You see it all the time in political discussions when people complain about a weak Governor or a weak President.  

Now imagine a woman who has endured abuse in her relationships for a long time.  She finally starts a new one with a guy who is considerate and kind.  But she's unhappy with him because he doesn't boss her around like the other guys did.  I'm sure that you know people who have relationships like that.
