So Where Are All The 'Murrican Workers?

Quote:Trump wants to build a wall as Texas developers complain about shortage of Mexican laborers to build homes
Quote:While presumptive GOP presidential candidate Donald Trump is leading in the polls in Texas by promising to build a wall between the Lone Star state and Mexico, home builders in the area are complaining about a labor shortage that is keeping them from getting homes built and is driving up costs.
The problem? Skilled Mexican laborers who have gone home and haven’t returned, reports WFAA.
Lacking skilled tradesmen, the completion of homes under construction in North Texas is falling further and further behind, adding up to $7,000 per month to the cost of a home.
It isn't only the farmers who are bitching it seems.

As wages go up in response to shortage, the hordes of laid off fracking workers in North Dakota will be headed to Texas.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

They can't be too skilled. Have you seen the typical house in Mexico?

As I said in another thread - I almost wish someone went through with keeping all illegal immigrants out. And then lets see how the economy reacts.
Just goes to show what fundamentally stupid shits right wingers ultimately are. No clue on the basics of economics and how it works in reality. Their only strength lies in inciting hatred, fear and resentments.

Oh the impact is known only too well, Abs. Doesn't stop shitstains like Drumpf from ignoring the lesson.

Quote:Alabama law drives out illegal immigrants but also has unexpected consequences
Quote:For years, most poultry workers here were Mexican immigrants, including some who were in the country illegally. But last fall, after a tough state law against illegal immigrants took effect, many vanished overnight, rattling the town’s large Hispanic community and leaving the poultry business scrambling to find workers willing to stand for hours in a wet, chilly room, cutting up dead chickens.
“Even someone born and raised in Albertville may not have the necessary skills or be able to pass a background check,” said Frank Singleton, a spokesman for Wayne Farms, which owns the slaughterhouse. The firm held a job fair that attracted about 250 local residents, but few were hired, and some soon quit, daunted by the demanding work. Since the law took effect, he said, “our turnover rate has gone through the roof.”
This is why there are two wings of the republicunt party who hate each other. The business wing and the Know-Nothing wing.

This is why there are two wings of the republicunt party who hate each other. The business wing and the Know-Nothing wing. That's too funny. The chicken shack makes the locals go through a background check but it hired a whole workforce of illegal aliens without one. There aren't too many things more amazing than American racism in action.

Min, I've seen you constantly complain about outsourcing in other threads? Why is immigrant labor done in this country for Americans any different then immigrant labor done in other countries? It's the same shit. Left wing people complain about outsourcing and right wingers complain about immigration even though they are two sides of the same failed protectionist economic ideas. The American workers are there, they just want more money then what Mexican workers want. I'm not going to build a house for 10 bucks an hour either. The same as Americans are willing to do tech work that is outsourced to India, but not for Indian wages. It's the same thing.

American corporations are outsourcing higher-paying jobs leaving our own people out of work. And it isn't only wages that are in question. Companies moved over the border to Mexico to escape environmental and other regulations. ( Ross Perot, btw, was right.)
I really don't think you can equate GM or Ford moving a plant to Mexico with some Mexican* coming here to empty bed pans in an assisted living facility or pick tomatoes.
* They aren't really Mexicans. They are Central Americans fleeing endemic violence in El Salvador, Honduras and Guatemala.
