ugh, yuck yuck yuck.
It is that very controlling, codependent aspect of religion that makes me so
militantly anti-religion.
If they simply said,
"We believe x, y, z about God and the Hereafter...but no, we cannot prove it "
....then I wouldn't mind nearly so much.
But the fact that they encourage OTHERS to believe the same thing,
(and the fact that they are oblivious to just how despicable and weak and juvenile it is,
that they need everyone else to believe in the same thing)
is the part that makes me
hate religion.
If they weren't so brainwashy about it,
if they didn't pass it off as undisputed truth,
or if they even had a shred of real evidence to support their assertion that their beliefs are based in fact
....then, again, I wouldn't despise religion nearly as much as I do.
But it grates on me that people damn me for being openly scornful about religion,
saying I should be tolerant of people who do not merely believe in such intolerant things, themselves,
but who insist, to one degree or another, that others believe it too....all without an iota of real proof.
....yeah, yeah, yeah, I know, it's all been said before, and I'm preaching to the choir, as it were....
Rant over.
But that signing a declaration of faith and disavowment of homosexuality, premarital sex, etc....
....is nothing short of nauseating.
