Is it?  They owe her.  Not only is she a career politician with deep ties to the establishment, she was the runner up before the current two term dem.  Do you have an alternative in mind?

In my opinion Bernie Sanders is the better candidate across the board. In his character, principles, positions and in his ability to soundly beat Trump. He's also to the left of Hillary on most issues.

Most of the time the Dems elect centrists because they poll better in general elections. However Bernie polled waaay better against Trump. Hillary is the only candidate the Dems could have nominated that Trump even has a chance against. I think it also proves that we are a country with no party for peace, but just two war parties.

At this stage, I'm of the opinion that just about any career Democrat would be a better choice than Clinton.

Plus, politics should never get to the point where a party "owes" someone a position. Government is supposed to be about helping society, not some corporate-like promotional ladder.

While it's fun to imagine a "clean" government..I don't know if there's ever been such a government.  Favors and backscratching are how our current government manages to help Joe Citizen (when it does).  I'm not endorsing an ideology, just trying to help clear up a mystery.

As far as Bernie is concerned kind of slit his own throat on that count - didn't he? You can't expect a person who complains about The Man™ to be their candidate.

Spam filters are hit and miss because they are attempts at trying to fix system which is broken at the design level. If we were to go back in time an invent email from scratch, it would be handled differently.

Your basic spam filter tries to match common spam message signatures, much like a basic anti-virus will attempt to match the signature of a particular piece of malicious code. Of course, this means staying on top of all the different types of spam message being sent. It gets trickier because some people will include words / phrases which are legitimate in the context of the email, but look like spam to the filter. If your mother emails you about a new product she bought and recommends to you, to a spam filter, that may look like a piece of spam (advertising).

More advanced spam filters operate on a trust system to eliminate a large proportion of spam messages. They reason that if you've ever sent an email to an address which has been marked as spam, it probably wasn't spam. For example, if you've sent an email to your mother wishing her a happy birthday, then your email system will likely mark your mother's email address as not-spam, and her messages will get through OK. The same applies for adding people to your contact list.

Even more advanced still, are email "addon" protocols like DKIM (DomainKeys Identified Mail), SPF records, and DMARC policies, which rely on senders of the email to set up various configurations on their email system, DNS, etc. to allow receiving email systems to check messages for veracity.

I do apologize for talking out of my ass on the spam filter thing. It doesn't make sense to me that disabling a spam filter could have national security implications, and I'll freely admit how wrong I was/am.

But my point still stands--if you're juxtaposing the two candidates, I can't even see how the two compare as far as corruption and bigotry and lunacy goes. I am not nor will I ever be in the 'Hillary Camp.' But it will never make sense to me how a fucking email scandal even compares to Donald Trump's track record. This hate for Hillary has been so carefully cultivated while Trump just has lowered the bar so much that no one even gives a shit how terrible he is.

It is so utterly ridiculous to me. Yes, we can talk about how both candidates are shit. They are both shit. But one of them is going to be the next president whether any of us like it or not. Saying they're both shit gets us nowhere.

Saying Hillary is shit so we might as well blow up the system with Trump is equally ludicrous. If Hillary's such shit, then burn it down with the person that at least will nominate SCOTUS judges that won't roll back every civil rights issue we've made progress in the last 20 years, that might make efforts for sensible gun legislation.

I cannot for the life of me understand how anyone could vote for Trump, except those that agree with the racism, bigotry, and misogyny that has been his campaign baseline this entire time. I'll never vote for Hillary. I'll vote against authoritarian fascism in Trump.
