Easy to say sitting back in good ole USA, smoking pot, growing your hair long and bad mouthing people sent over there to protect your way of life.

It would also have been nice to let the RCAF (Royal Cambodian Armed Forces) know there wasn't a civil war. May have been difficult though, they were busy fighting for survival against Pol Pot's Khmer Rouge crazy genocidal killers. (Killing Fields).

No. Unless you were in the military, we don't have anything in common. I am not interested in what you read in the newspapers or watched in the movies. I am not interested in telling war stories or impressing anyone. Just stating fact.

Who said speaking Thai gets you posted to Cambodia? If no one in our unit spoke the native language, we would get an interpreter. I was assigned Thai. In Thailand, i spoke Thai.

I enjoy how the LGBT community makes a mockery of Christians. No one from the LGBT community has ever caused me harm.

Not sure where the kinda dickish response came from, but according to Google there was actually a civil war in Cambodia going up until about '91, and there was some faction-clashing around '97. Not finding much besides that, but there could be details to that period that I'm not seeing on a cursory search. Looks like mostly just political maneuvering between those two years, but it wouldn't surprise me if skirmishes were still unofficially happening throughout that time.
