1) This will almost certainly be the final nail in the coffin for Trump's campaign. Clinton will be able to deflect a lot of criticism by pointing to this decision.
2) If there is one thing I think will come from this, it will be demand for more serious consequences for people like Clinton in the future; that is, we will see legislation passed and rules enacted to ensure that people cannot set up private servers for government emails, and especially, that if people do try and do this, they should be prosecuted.
And, as a result, perhaps the fogies of her generation will become more savvy about appropriately handling their emails, texts and whatever is next. Perhaps.

This is true. (FBI Director James) Comey said, essentially, the state department has been extremely lax about security, and that this should be a wakeup call to change the culture and take this shiz seriously.

Don't worry, my friend. If this be the end, then so shall it be.

I think it's pretty safe to say that outside of security professionals, damn near everyone is pretty lax about security.
This is not purely a state department - or even government - issue.

Wunnerful. Next time you don't feel like taking the kid out of the backseat on a hot day, Hillary's got your 6.
Well, it'll be survivable in a run against Trump, but had the 'pubs nominated an actual viable candidate, we'd be looking at an 8 year shitstorm thanks to Hillary's arrogance.
There weren't any running, in case you forgot. 17 turds vied for the nomination and the smelliest won.

One set of laws for the elites, one set for the rest of us. I didn't think she'd get away with such criminality. Now we know for sure the United States is an oligarchy. Such a sad day for democracy.
Let's all turn off the anti-virus software and spam filters where we work; it's fine to do so apparently. And why stop there? Let's all extract top secret information from the State Department, that's legal too, apparently. And then let's destroy it, because that totally doesn't disqualify you from public office.

E-mail is by its nature an insecure medium, Top secret and secret should never be sent by e-mail, classified and confidential maybe if certain precautions are made but secret no.

Risking 3, 4, 5 (?) SCOTUS picks for what ?
What was the payoff ??
Convenience ??
Risking $10K on a coin toss for $100K is one thing, risking $10K on a coin toss for a bag of tater chips when you're peckish is another thing entirely.
Giving someone else (Comey) that kind of power is dumb too, keep the reins firmly in hand, don't ever hand them off to anyone else regardless whether they are vetted/bought/co-op'd/whatever since even with the best game plan around, those fucking Souters can slip in unaware and fuck you raw.
And Souter is just a recent example of the phenomena, how do you think Roe v. Wade happened in '73 ??
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.
