Well when I heard about police executing two black men in consecutive days I thought to myself "we wouldn't tolerate that shit in Australia". If you ask me, following that incident the Louisiana State police force should have be deregulated, suspend all State police officers, and bring in police from across the border - Arkansas, Gulf of Mexico, and Mississippi. Then hold an inquiry where the suspended police force can make the case on an individual case-by-case basis as to why they should be allowed to return to work. They can then work alongside the other State police officers until they are deemed competent enough to run their own police force.

Yea because when you're pinned down by two police officers, and one has a gun to your chest, you're going to try to reach for your own gun.
I mean, that's what most sensible people would avoid doing, I agree. However what we know is that this guy had been reported to the police for threatening people with a gun earlier that day, which was why police were there. He was a large man, he could have easily overpowered one of the officers, maybe both, and it looked like he was resisting arrest.
Even if he wasn't going for his gun, the act of resisting arrest, combined with the fact that the cop saw a gun on the guy, is going to make any cop worry for their safety.
Maybe some new angle will emerge that allows a different story, but for me, if you want to avoid getting shot by cops, don't resist arrest, even if you know you are innocent.

The police in my country are out of control. Their methods are overly reactionary. Some dick heads shooting cops at a peaceful protest is making matters worse.

It would seem now that anything the Black Lives Matters group tried to accomplish is going to be demolished because of the assassination and murders of these Dallas Police Officers. Not that their anti police rhetoric didn't help stoke the flames that led to these murders. If BLM is really concerned with black lives and want to promote unity and a better quality of life within black communities maybe they should start with Chicago and address the high rate of black on black murders which far exceeds the police on black killings. Now there's a city that needs peace and unity. But is that what BLM truly wants.
