No - you see, the problem is neither the axe nor any ideology, the problem is that not everyone on the train had an AR15 or if all else fails, a Tec9 at their disposal to defend themselves properly.
This could easily have been 100 dead, 50 wounded, but because of our unpatriotic socialist gun culture, it totally fizzled out.

I have a collection of axes in Germany. A hatchet, a maul and an axe. What I prefer to use though is my collection of sledge hammers and wedges. I've got 1K, 3K, 4K and 5 Kilo hammers. There's nothing more satisfying than splitting a metre thick tree trunk using nothing but a collection of hammers and wedges. One of these days I'll need to get a chain saw like everyone else. I've always found axes to have a very limited use. I've only ever found them useful for cutting off stringy bits. I'd be more fearful of someone using a knife on a train than an axe. And even more fearful of someone using a chainsaw. In fact I'm scared of people using chainsaws even when I've paid them to finish the job I started using only hammers and wedges.
