Help needed. The Last Reformation.

RE: Help needed. The Last Reformation.
I'm not disagreeing The Last Reformation is a cult, but having a 'Christian' organization that is big on scripture cherry picking making the cult determination is preposterous.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Did you get to the place in the vid where they deviate from the accepted woo to new age woo? Takes a cult to know a cult? Their cult version is just better.

And christians never stab each other in the back unless it's absolutely necessary.
I don't have an anger problem, I have an idiot problem.

Ah looks like a newspaper found it, which is probably where my mother got the whole curing of autism, cancer and homosexuality from.

Thing is, our grandmother claimed to be a faith healer and a spiritualist yet last I heard my brother thinks that spiritualism is a corruption of Christianity misled by the devil (or something, I can't remember what).

We've stopped discussing religion when visiting my parents in case it leads to an argument. Maybe I should have continued.

Found another link. The local aren't normally sensationalistic because they don't need to be. Their market is assured because there will always be expats wanting news in English.

It occurred to me that if autism could be cured by prayer, then this disproves the concept of free will. They are claiming that one person can change the neural circuitry and thought patterns of another person, regardless of what they believe about demonic possession.

Good advice except that I don't know where to find any experts on this.

I'm very sorry to hear that Sad I agree that staying calm and using the SM is probably all you can do.

I agree. It's just a matter of how extreme, and how dangerous they are at any given time. Anything with dogma is dangerous.

That's my worry. I have one card to play. He throws himself into things 100%. He's had a crisis of faith in the past and says that he understands why some people do not believe. All I can do is to ask him a few questions that throw enough doubt on the whole situation using the Socratic method. It would require staying absolutely calm throughout and not raising my voice at any point or showing any stress. All I could do is hope to plant some seeds that may grow with enough time.

I think you have as good a handle as you can on this. Good luck, Matty.
