I'm against capital punishment.
But if it has to exist, why can't they make it quick?
In 2016 can we not make a machine that instantly kills?
Hanging and lethal injection is just as barbaric as having you're throat slit with a blunt knife like isis do.
Isn't it?
Even the guillotine would be better than that.
It's just fucking sick.

pretty damn close to instantaneous, however

no one likes cleaning up the mess
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

A nation that executes its citizens (regardless of the reasons) loses the moral authority to lecture other nations that execute their citizens ... simple

I had no idea that Delaware had such an aggressive foreign policy.

I don't know about that. The US executes a very small number of people nowadays and only for multiple or aggravated murder. There is a giant difference between that and executing people for political dissidence or drug crimes.

You're forgetting the ones who get executed by the cops for having an expired license plate tag!

Lethal injection barbaric?

Pretty sure it's the less painful method.

I could be wrong though.

There is actually good evidence that the three drug cocktail that they currently use just masks excruciating pain through the paralyzing agent. Our lethal injection in prisons is so outdated at this point, that vets don't use it anymore to euthanized animals because they are concerned about the pain. https://www.newscientist.com/article/dn7...-painless/

If we are going to do it, we should just switch to a single shot barbiturate method. Or just get rid of the death penalty. Life imprisonment is just the death penalty anyway. Death by confinement. At least people in prison still have the opportunity to better themselves or make something of their life or even experience regret over their crime, though I believe the chances are slim they will actually do it.
