Just finished putting together another batch of fig chutney. Just cooking it down now, about twenty more minutes.

The first batch was way too sweet. Cut the sugar down by more than half and switched from dark brown to coconut sugar. Pretty sure the ripe figs and fuji apple will give it plenty of sweetness. Increased the fresh ginger a bit, doubled the orange rind, left the rind on the apple this time and doubled the amount of red onion. Left in just one jalepeno but cut it coarser this time. Oh and I cut down from three to two cinnamon sticks.

Last batch was good but too sweet. Can't wait for it to cool off and see.

So, what should I make first?  Crispy spiced Locust?  lol

Honestly, there are some really off the wall recipes in here (pun intended), but so many great looking ones.  I'm very interested to make the tea soaked eggs, leek soup, bowls of brown (oh yem, lol) and almost ALL the pastries in here.

Any ideas for presentation and entertaining?  I was thinking of going with jousting dwarves but maybe that's become passe'?

Done eating today, but looking at chutneys. Haven't had any Indian cuisine in a while.

Bought a meal deal from Tescos for me and the Mrs. Aubergine parmigiana with cheddar and sundried tomato swirls, and pear and pecan tarts for afters, oh and a bottle of 13% wine, all for a tenner. Only downside is it's not microwavable.
