What are you cooking/eating right now?
RE: What are you cooking/eating right now?
I tried a jalapeno hushpuppy for the first time. I took two bites.

It was turrible.

Just ate 2 of the Chinese-style almond cookies that I made last night.  <cookie_monster>Omnomnomnomnom!</cookie_monster>

Figuring out this recipe is an epic win, as I've intermittently been trying to duplicate these particular cookies for years.  Archived the final results on the blog of my guardian dragon Glori:  Aunt Tata's Almond Cookies, Mk. III.  (Aunt Tata is a character from one of my NaNoWriMo stories, a 1-foot-tall dragon matriarch with a capital-T Temper and an attack-trained parasol).

Short bread cookies.

Finished some leftover quinoa and a hamburger patty for supper.

Also made a batch of peanut butter fudge, and it turned out extremely well: Fine non-grainy texture, and hardened quickly after I poured it out of the pot onto the plate. One day I hope to get my chocolate fudge up to the same standard.

Had a semi-regular dinner of sushi, potato chips and cake. My sushi didn't settle on the way home too well, and required a fork, having halfway turned to poke.

Just finished telling a friend how I recently bought a "Spiralizer" and I love it:

There's different versions out there, mine is made by Starfrit, cost about $20-$25 CDN.

If you love veggies, it is a great way to get more of them into your diet.
I make the julienned "noodles" out of zucchini and steam them, in lieu of pasta.

Brilliant.

Also great for raw; can make ribbons of cucumber or apple; pretty much anything.

Made double batches of brownies and Rice Krispie squares to take to Saturday morning band practice, as it's my turn to bring noms. After packing all the tins we had some leftovers, which my daughter and I are in the process of "disappearing."

But actual supper tonight was Italian bread, some extra-old cheddar, and red wine.
