The name of a military unit is hardly equivalent to a commercial brand.   A military unit revere the unit name, The unit name is a central part of esprit de corp, a rallying cry in action or in training.   The name represents the honor of the unit.  No one fought for the honor and glory of Mitsubishi or Daimler Benz.
