I love watching the esoteric sports you'd never get a chance to see otherwise.

So far I have been watching:
Archery
Table Tennis
Kayaking
Fencing
Judo
Indoor/Beach Volleyball
Field Hockey
Water Polo

Also, if course I am catching tennis, basketball, soccer, and swimming. The only sport I have found unwatchable is water polo. I don't know why.

I like watching whatever I can catch too.

I forget who said it but some guy described Olympic tv coverage as "two athletes.... the American and the guy who won."

And no.  Haven't watched a minute of it.

The American-centric coverage by NBC bugs me too. So many other excellent athletes but if they're not Team USA, they get ignored - it's ridiculous.

I'm not athletic at all. Never have been and never will be. But I can live vicariously through the Olympic athletes.

The women's gymnastics are on now (taped) - I already know who won since it happened hours ago!

Also, on a side note, I think the Summer Games should be held permanently in Greece instead of countries bidding and then going broke building infrastructure.

I've only seen some of the fencing, which is interesting. Haven't seen anything else. My favorite Summer games events to watch are track and field, boxing, and wrestling, but I doubt I'll have much time to spend with any of it.

It's largely a waste of time anyway, since U.S. broadcasters seem to think that people who tune in are more interested in their bullshit 'human interest' story angles than the competitions themselves. I get enough of that shit watching my wife's preferred television programs. I'd rather actually watch -- you know -- sports.

Been watching quite a bit, in the Uk if your tv is internet connected you have the option to change the sport from the main broadcast, currently watching canoeing but currently could watch tennis, boxing, swimming, equestrian or golf.

Since I cut the cable cord last year, I only get NBC on an antenna so I've been watching their nightly prime-time wrap ups.

Don't you guys use satellite dishes? I get all my tv chanells via astra satellites. American news networks included.
