More insight into religion: logical and emotional beliefs

RE: More insight into religion: logical and emotional beliefs
Sorry, Rob, ill make it short this time.

Religion draws desperate people by well polished ideas of love. "Love your close one and your God. We can do it together. Or do you wish to live like an animal? Shame on you". Many by in to such idealistic and utopian ideas.

He hasn't come in here telling us we will go to hell if we don't believe Fido died for us because he loves us and wants us to believe in him. And that makes the difference between a coping strategy and a nutty religion.
The god who allows children to be raped out of respect for the free will choice of the rapist, but punishes gay men for engaging in mutually consensual sex couldn't possibly be responsible for an intelligently designed universe.

I may defend your right to free speech, but i won't help you pass out flyers.

Yes, it seems harmless to allow myself to be partially fooled, when I'm consciously aware of the truth of the matter. Trying to burrow into my brain and eradicate it seems pointless when it would only cause me to be more upset.

The problems arise when you're not aware of the disparity between the belief and reality.

I never have a clue what that guy is talking about. I think he just posts conversations that he is having with the voices in his head.

Good thanks and I've not had spaghetti in a while. Thanks Alfred, you too. I'll check for free packets of chocolate panties on Monday. Yeah Jim said the crocodiles were biting his horse again. Yeah they weren't conspiring against The Clock King this time.

Sorry I was just communicating telepathically with Purplepurpose and I thought I'd just randomly post it here.

What did you say LFC? Big Grin

I know...but didn't you even consider the fact that egg plants have been around for hundreds of years? People love to always grant wishes to pigs. It's just the way humans "engage spiritually" when it comes to mustard seed, and farm animals. No one seems to think of this.
