Once again, he's not even proselityzing. He's just doing his job by adressing his crowd. He's not fishing for new people when he prays for the victims. It's what the pope fucking does.
Darn you, abaris, every time I try and respond to one of your posts, I see that cute puppy in your avatar. You're doing that deliberately, aren't you?

You can respond any way you want. But give me one convincing reason why this even is an atheist issue and I promise to listen. It's not our losses, it's their's. And if they take comfort in listening to the pope I'm the last one to judge them.
This isn't about atheist/theist. This is about people having lost everything. If they were luckyl only everything they ever worked for. If they weren't, they were losing loved ones. So it's entirely up to them to be court, judge and jury on this matter.

And I can think of worse things about the Earthquake. Such as the several hundred casualties and the several thousand people having lost home and livelihood.
Why don't you just wind your fucking neck in? see past the wording of the OP. I think the pope should keep a low profile after a natural disaster for fucking obvious reasons! Prayer may help to make some theists sleep, but back on planet earth it winds up people with half a brain. The twat should be in jail, and not be in a position to comment on such events.

First, the reasons aren't obvious, since he represents hope for a considerable portion of theists. That in itself is sufficient reason to let him speak and to do what's in his job description. And as long as you aren't among the ones suffering from the disaster, kindly shove your opinion up your arse. It's not your loss. The ones actually having lost family or livelihood are the ones making that decision.
I wonder why fellow atheists feel so insecure in ther position that they take issue with something like that.

Because of the bullshit he promotes, and yes a natural disaster should prick the conscience of theists or at least theists who believe in a master plan. I am not insecure at all, just can't understand why anyone can tolerate someone in his position calling for prayer for victims.. to me it's a fucking piss take.

Because I don't feel superior. And because I know what faith represents for a lot of people. And because I'm the last one to judge them for that.
Might want to take a good hard look at what you are saying, since, again, it's not your loss, but their's. And they are the only ones to take issue or not.

It's humanity's loss. I was not directly affected, but Arsebaris I can have an opinion.

Yeah, and you have an asshole too. That's what they say about opinions, isn't it.
And I would be hard pressed to say what's the loss for humanity. Unless we resort to lowlife bickering over lost lives.
