RE: If the bible/quran/whatever was better, would you've remained theist?

At some point, I would have realized that there is no scientific evidence for any of religion's claims.... I became atheist at 12, but kept quiet. The unscientific magical bullshit is what drove me away from religion, not necessarily its moral (or rather immoral) code of ethics.Oh and I was too young to realize the damage it was doing to the world.

If the Bible and the Koran were that much better we would still be in a pickle. A diagram of a steam engine in the bible and an explanation of quantum physics in the koran? Oh , which way do we turn? Christians and Muslims would have to team up against the Jews and all other infidels before finally turning on each other. Not much of a change was it?

I probably would have remained a theist for a longer time period. I remember first doubting Christianity because of the ridiculous Adam and Eve story while also being taught about dinosaurs.
It's hard to imagine the bible as pretty much a history book that basically says all this stuff happened, nothing supernatural, but by the way, there is definitely a god.
I think I can safely say my doubts would have been delayed, and I might have remained vaguely religious with some doubts instead of totally agnostic like I am now.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.
