My parents are not religious, so I would think that homosexual would be of more of a concern.
Persnoally, I would rather hear that they are homosexual.

My parents - sadly - aren't around animore to do the Litmus test, but they would have dealt with both. One thing I remember about my parents was their unconditional love for me and my brother and that they wanted the best for us in life. Without having done the talk, they were well aware that I'm no religious person. In fact it was my father setting me off on the path that ultimately led to my atheism. Even when I was very little, he took me to the museum of natural history and explained to me that Dinosaurs used to live millions of years ago. We also went to the shores of the primeval ocean that was right on our doorstep and I used to collect fossilized shells.

My parents would probably rather hear that I don't want the love of Jesus Christ rather than wanting the love of Jesus Christ in the form of anal sex.

But who does't want some of this?  Heart

I find jesus haircuts kind of douchebaggy.

Yes, but there are plenty of Christians who seem to think that being gay is a choice, too.

That wound in his abdomen is pretty douchebaggy too. I've never met an incarnate deity who sacrificed himself to his own sense of justice who wasn't some kind of a fucking douche.

My parents didn't seem bothered at all when I came out as bisexual. They probably would have had the same reaction if I said I was gay.

My parents were really pissed off and wanted to hear nothing more about it when my brother and I told them we didn't believe in a god. I think my dad blew a gasket.

However, I'm essentially no longer part of the family since I came out as transgender. This was the big one that ended it all. We don't talk anymore.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that, Jesster. [emoji853] I don't understand why people can't manage to work through their own fears and biases, even for the love of their own CHILDREN.

My mom knows I don't believe in god. I think deep down it really bothers her, but she has always been respectful toward me about it. We just don't talk about it. If I came out? She would probably have a hard time at first, but she'd eventually be okay. She's pretty open minded for a Christian (raised Catholic). My dad is a different story, lol. While not religious as far as I could
ever tell, he would definitely struggle with the 'gay' thing.
