I also wonder if he'll ever realize that we don't operate with a hive mind, and that the opinions of some aren't the opinions of all? The situation here isn't that he engaged in the molestation of the girl, for which he has been rightly locked up.  The problem is that his church is demanding an apology from his VICTIM.

In criminal law, the consent being discussed is hers, not yours. His question is, would you find sex with a 12-year-old acceptable if the metric of the local law approves it?

Further more I believe I already have answered that question. I don't find It acceptable hence why I WOULDN'T GIVE MY CONSENT. What other people do in accordance with U.S. law is their business.

I'm not aware of the case you refer to, Huggy (seems I've avoided it until now).

However, as far as I'm concerned any adult who engages with sex with an underage person (younger than the age of consent), should be locked up, no matter who they are and what position they may hold in society. Hell, if my favourite person in the world - my father - had sex with an under age girl or boy I'd be the first to demand he be locked up.

The church is allegedly demanding an apology. I don't know how a church as a collective would go about demanding anything. Funny how kevin emphasizes the atheists shouldn't be seen as a collective, but people have no problem referring to the church as one on this issue.
