how much more diffuse and ephemeral can the catholic church get on cracking down on pedo priests ?
* suing victims
* suing victims families
* concealing assets from lawsuits
* shielding perps from criminal charges
* denying abuse has occurred
* rotating perps to new parishes and not revealing to that parish reason for reassignement
* procuring fresh victims for their pedos
* resisting external recommendations for providing safety for children
* resisting internal recommendations for providing safety for children
* back tracking on even meager improvements forced upon the church
* and doing all of the above for 1500 years (at least), by THEIR OWN ADMISSION !!
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

A soon-to-be-released book about Cardinal Pell contains detailed claims that he sexually abused two choirboys at St Patrick's Cathedral in Melbourne in the late 1990s.
The alleged abuse is said to have occurred after the introduction of the Melbourne Response, the compensation scheme for clerical sexual abuse victims established in 1996 by Cardinal Pell, when he was Archbishop of Melbourne.
The book, Cardinal: The Rise And Fall of George Pell, also contains new information about the child abuse cover-up within the church, including allegations that he knew about paedophile priests earlier than he claimed.
The boys, who were both students at St Kevin's College in Toorak and sang in the choir at St Patrick's Cathedral in East Melbourne, were allegedly abused in a back room of the church.

If the church is full of sin, yet still exists, then it just means there is no god, or their god is also corrupt and evil. Given that Jesus was very anti wealth, it's a wonder why anyone would consider the vatican a holy place for christianity.
