What about Tool?
I don't know... their sound never really clicked with me. I don't actively dislike them.

You're right, and I definitely prefer Sodom over Kreator music-wise, but given the three vid limit I posted the Kreator concert because they are such a great live band.

:C
Interestingly I've never really met anyone who hates them. A bunch of people who love them, some who feel totally indifferent to them and a whole lot who have never heard of them, unfortunately. Not saying that this anecdotal evidence proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that they're awesome... but they're awesome.

I remember when I discovered Tool, I was 15, stoned out of my mind watching some music channel in the middle of the night when fucking Parabola started playing, had never seen anything like it. Totally fucked with my brain but it was awesome.
I am John Cena's hip-hop album.

Funny Tool related story: a good christian girl from my class in high school in rural TX (quite attractive, varsity volleyball, too) gave me a ride home one day and a song she liked played on the car stereo - it had some German lyrics, so she asked me whether I could translate it for her. So I did. Awkward silence ensued.
The song was Die Eier von Satan
Awk. ward.
Well, it could have been worse, coulda been Rammstein "Bück Dich"

I discovered Tool when I saw the video for "Sober" on Headbanger's Ball when I was 13. It blew my impressionable little mind.

I remember where I saw it now. MTV of all things actually used to occassionally run segments where they would play metal videos for a 2 whole hours sometimes twice a week, and sometimes they just played the videos they couldn't show during the day, including Parabola and a bunch of other weird crap.

Any Fear Factory fans?
My favorite song by them is Concreto, a real head-banger song.

Oh yes, you could have observed me in a Demanufacture shirt at quite a few summer festivals the played here in the last years.
Much fun, love Dino rocking the stage
Bell really needs to work on his clean live vocals, both his delivery as well as what the hell the audio settings for them were that rendered them inaudible. It's never going to happen I fear.
I just got Genexus, it's not bad.

remains my favorite, possibly for nostalgic reasons, followed by Mechanize

I'm not too big a fan of their Nu Metal phase, but it's ok.
