This is just part I of course (the rest of it can be found HERE).
It focuses on the 3rd symphony and why it was a revolution in music (and led not only to the romantic period but the idea of music as unadulterated self-expression). While it is not 100% accurate, it gets the gist and importance of what made Beethoven such an important composer, and why the third symphony was so radical. Its an entertaining doco/bio-pic as well.
Incidentally, the orchestra performing here is led by John Eliot Gardiner. A few months ago I got Gardiner's recording of all nine symphonies (all "HIP") and has amazing energy.
The sixth has always been my personal favorite.

They are never historically accurate. Take Immortal Beloved for example. I love the movie, but it takes a lot of liberties.

For pure pathos it is hard to beat Albinoni's Adagio.
Very effective at the end of the movie, Gallipoli, which was an unabashed military disaster.

I know a conductor that absolutely hates the William Tell overture, apparently it is boring as hell to conduct as you can't really put your own spin on it. So I play it every time he comes over.
