I understand some of you may find that counter productive to your assertion there isn't a god. However iron sharpens iron, and i'm sure we both have somthing to learn from eachother. Smile

Now, i'll get on with a quick run down of my belief foundation. Please start with an introduction of yourself via PM and i will discuss the progress of my thesis and some of the trouble i have encountered. Thanks! Smile

my belief in Jesus Christ being God in the flesh has to do with how unuiqe he was as a historcal figure, with refurence to non-biblical records as well. The remarkable historicity of the bible. Reliability of translation , from both scholars and the dead sea scrolls. Multiple accounts of prohpetic fullfilment, scientific and otherwise. And generaly harboring more reason and consistency than the proposed contrary of a godless un-governed universe offers.
Welcome new chew toy, you should be fun.

*clears throat, then points at sign on door reading "Introductions" while tapping foot.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Welcome!

I'm not sure I can engage with you. Can you define "intilectualy honest"?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

What does "god" need with soldiers, anyway?

Whooooah not sure where to begin with so many replies, haha. The harvest is indeed ripe!

Bahahahah i'm just pullin' your chains, i'm sure that one is bound to russtle some jimmies.

Who says we can't engage via PM? Will i be banned? Lol

I don't buy the whole "default athiesm" neutrality stance. Can you prove to me you are genuine and open to evidence? Sorry i just don't believe you. What i mean is, i'm not convinced that one could be so noble as to set their bias aside for the sake of truth. From the biblical world view, you don't want god. You think god is a big meenie! Hmph! >Sad

Is the law maker responsable for what happens to the law breaker? When Gods hand is forced some will complain "how could god do such a thing", when god is graceous witholding judgment "how could god allow such evil"

Now settle down i'm not so bold as to proclaim you guys believe god exists or anything of that sort. I've been there before. But don't bother to hide your bitterness.

I think one of my ancestors was a chief native american of the Osage tribe, he was given the title/name 'Soldat Du Chene' after fighting off men beside an oak tree. Once i became a christian i only found it natural to splice the two Smile Except no it doesn't imply "killin' heathens" lol, the bible is my sword! Smile

How many of you here understand that there is in fact truth? An ultimate truth. And would you agree we should all be on a grand quest for the ultimate truth? Maybe not the last part. But basicly i want to know what the general hive mind is around here

That's pretty much what we're here for.  Bless you.   Rolleyes

Your god is no more real than any other gods invented by the human imagination.

Others can agree or not as they like.

You might start by learning to spell evangelism.

See what I mean?  There is some free constructive criticism, brother.   Angel

Why would anyone want to take you up on your offer of discussion by PM only? You need to make it an interesting offer.

May I just say, and I mean this in the nicest way possible, I prefer any humiliation that is to be had be in the open where all can enjoy.
