AF Christmas Part II

RE: AF Christmas Part II
If I had money I'd celebrate by buying lots of candy and then taking it all home and eating it all.

If I could, I'd give you all the candy I bought. We're not getting any trick-or-treaters tonight. Grr.

Meaning we can choose more than one?  Great idea.

There was only one I wanted.

Christmas is a family meetup. Got nothing to do with religion. Only with food and spending time together.

I forgot about it. I wanted to lock my doors and put the chains on in case some kids come knocking demanding something I want to eat myself. But it's close to midnight and I guess I'm safe by now.

It's only 5:30 pm'ish here, not quite dark and rain on the way.  If we can just make it to the storm we're golden.  In 34 years here not one trick or treater has ever knocked on our warehouse door.  We long ago stopped stocking up for the eventuality knowing we'd be stuck with whatever we got.  As a result we dread getting that first knock with the candy larder bare.

They haunted my door for a few years. But once I handed them candies that were long past the sell by date. Not intentionally, I only noticed later that they were already on the shelf for the better part of a decade. But maybe the message stuck anyway.

There are certain times I don't hang out here. In fact I only hang out here when it's late at night or when I'm bored at work.
