Updates on the election for those of us...

I selfishly, and probably naively, just want to get back to California now, or at least before January.
Having been in FL for the past four months, I'm not that surprised at what is happening, but I am disgusted and really, really sad.
Nolite te bastardes carborundorum.
Why the fuck do I have to live in this shitty universe instead of be in another universe where this shit does not happen?
The cure for this current panic is to laugh maniacally. We should all give it a go. It'll help.
In related news, our very own Napoleon wins the "Nostradamus" award and has my express permission to march around the forums acting very smug.
I just feel like crying, because I don't know what to tell my daughters. How can I ever look them in the eye again and tell them they can be anything they want when they grow up? How can I tell them that there's more good than evil in the world, when an evil like Trump wins? My girls are asleep right now. I don't want to wake them. They saw the things Trump said. And like any decent normal human being, they found them despicable. What am I supposed to tell them tomorrow morning? How did this man win? I just don't know how.

I had a hard time getting mine to sleep, since I had a little panic in front of her. I had to get a grip and tell her who was president didn't really matter. She cried herself to sleep. Worst election ever. I don't even know what to do with myself. I'm usually very honest with my daughter. But tomorrow, I have to take a deep breath, burry my very real feeling of shock and horror, and tell her again that it doesn't matter. Then turn off teh news for the next 4 years, and move to the most democratic stronghold we can next year. Which we are doing. Seattle, thank you for existing. It's the best I can hope for. My family and friends are all in shock. My poor old mom turned off the news because it was making her feel ill. She was in tears. The human race, I knew deep down we were fucked up, that's why I'm in therapy. Proof positive. We will destroy ourselves and every fucking living thing on this planet in our narcissistic fear. I hope my daughter never has kids.
