My atheism religious faith is being shaken...

RE: My atheism religious faith is being shaken...
Vague 'prophecies' in a bronze age book of fairy tales that can be loosely applied to modern day happenings mean literally nothing. Yes, this is just remnants of the indoctrination you experienced.
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.

It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.

Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll

Imma cut you some slack, since it;s your first post.  Won2B here is actually new to this whole atheism thing, he was..very recently...and perhaps at least marginally when he first joined, still a believer.  He has a "sky is falling" narrative that dovetails with his indoctrination as a Witness (people who have been claiming that the sky was falling for so long one wonders how they fail to notice it isn't laying on the floor already).

Yes, it's a bit of a stretch even on it's own terms, but that honestly irrelevant to the subject of the question because even if it -weren't- a stretch, it still has nothing to do with daniel or with god.  Daniel was describing another "sky is falling" moment - long since past. Which is why criticizing the "sky is falling" fear that he or anyone else may have isn't useful in addressing the uneasiness he feels. The uneasyness, if you missed it in the first post, isn't that the sky is falling in and of itself, but that daniel predicted it. Thus, it is -to him-, very much related to his newfound atheism.

As to the mods, they only take out the trash when it breaks the rules......lol, not when someone thinks it's super, super stupid. Welcome aboard, btw.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. Trump is the President elect so grow up and get over it already, its rather childish (unless you are a child then disregard). None of the doomsday scenarios that have/are floating around happened and there is .......no evidence.....to support any of the ridiculous and fantastical doomsday scenarios. Remember that thing called evidence?  The path of this thread seems to be much more akin to religious prophecy and portents than a proper atheist discussion weighing evidence. Where is the logic here? Where is the fundamental reasoning processes? If you and others really are "shaken"  simply from a democratic election that didn't go your way then you never really had a solid foundation in logic and reasoning and would like to dwell in fantasy. Shameful masquerading or flip-flop attitude, which one are you or both? The hyperbole in this thread is shocking and hardly worthy of mentioning again if only to slap you down like the prophetic fools several of you are mimicking. After reading more on this site I hope to not find such religious droning from those that claim to be atheist. What a horrible introduction to this Athesist website......the moderators should be taking this trash thread and placing it a different area like "Ranting Without Reason". It doesn't belong in atheist discussion and only fools would think so, unfortunately.

Anyone who will lose their healthcare when the ACA is repealed, any woman who believes in their right to choose, any LGBT member who fought their whole life to finally have their marriage recognized by every state, anybody who cares about the state of our environment and the damage global warming will bring, any Muslim or Latino who will be endlessly berated by people who think Trump being President means "no more political correctness"... all these people have a right to be upset and angry. The only people I see saying stuff like "Get over it" are the people whose lives won't be affected. Realize that a Republican-controlled government is bad for many people.

"The Sky is Falling!!!! The Sky is Falling!!!"

Hyperbole and prophecy is all you preach. Its quite apparent you have zero clue how difficult it will be to tear down the PPACA, if you had you would have kept that silly comment to yourself. The best thing that came with the PPACA and ultimately the only thing any good about it is the, "No more pre-exsisting condtions means you can't be denied coverage, charged more, or denied treatment based on health status", and that will never be removed, ever. The only way to not know that is to have been hiding for every Trump speech or just hearing what you want to hear, lets hope its not your typical behavior. As for the rest of your other doomsday examples.....grow up.

My last example (any Muslim or Latino who will be endlessly berated by people who think Trump being President means "no more political correctness") is already happening. Check the "DRUMPFUCKS BEING DICKS" thread. Also, you are aware that the judges that Trump wants to appoint to the Supreme Court has gone on record saying he wants to overturn Roe v Wade and Obergefell v Hodges, correct? And that Justice Ginsberg doesn't seem to have a lot of time left? The things I'm saying are not far-fetched.

We'll see what Trump's "plan" is in the coming months but I think they'll be able to dismantle quite a bit more than you think.

Not appropriate for this section is the correct way to put it but if you want to whittle it down to just "stupid" then I can't be responsible for your inability to get a proper point across for lack of understanding. I don't care for your explanation for it is irrelevant to the section and pointless. Perhaps I'll come across something that you've written in the future that will open a proper discussion.

Welll, I guess it's good to know that you disagree with everybody about everything and have a very definite sense of what belongs where and why, lol.  Good luck on the boards.

This conversation with you has passed into the realm of fantasy. The only fact that has "happened"  in reality is Clinton fanatics causing riots, damaging property etc... so your hyperbole is without merit. You must be able to discern between the actual and what your mind is playing on you, until then I really cannot continue to speak with you on this particular subject for you are unarmed to deal. However, if its atheism and religion you would like to pick up for conversation I would be all to happy to commit to a new thread.

Its certainly clear that you have an enormously overactive imagination and are subject to extreme hyperbole and bouts of fantasy. This is only my fourth post between three people and you say I disagree with everyone and everything? Muslims wipe everyone out? Perhaps a world plague has gone through and I didn't notice that there only three people left in the world? Hmmmm, no. Get a grip, stop choosing to act the juvenile.

Atheism does not fit any definition of a religion that I know of.

And it takes zero faith to disbelieve claims that have not met their burden of proof.

Carry on.

The title was meant to be a bit sarcastic

He says specifically that the clay represents the common people mixed with iron and that is what makes it weak. We live in unprecedented times where people don't read but they react. Especially so in America.

And be careful what you say. EVERYBODY said that Trump was a joke candidate and NO ONE thought he could win the Republican nomination let alone the presidency. I'll admit that you brits are smart but you still have the lods of emone class

Be careful what I say? I don't know what you're referring to. We Brits are not smart, we're also trying to destroy our own country as we speak.

When you said that your country would never vote someone like Trump in. Be careful what you say on that regard. Trump could be a model for a lot of wannabe fascists.
