Leah Remini Scientology Special & New Show

RE: Leah Remini Scientology Special & New Show
It was an HBO documentary, so you might be able to find it on your cable listings if you're subscribed. Not sure, though.

Looks like there are a few (at least one) Scientology documentaries here. http://topdocumentaryfilms.com/category/religion/

(Disclaimer: While I'm pretty sure these are public domain docus, I can't be certain nothing on the site was illegally uploaded.)

There's everything you might want to know over at http://www.xenu.net/. Plus there are tons of youtubers out there exposing the cult; many of them former members, such as Tory Magoo, while others such as the Angry Gay Pope make it their mission to "enturbulate" as much as possible.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

Thanks!
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."

The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Obviously because they don't want to scare people off before they're deeply involved in the cult.

That's exactly it. A lot of them say they didn't really question it until they were OTs. Then, they were like what the fuck is wrong with you people? The problem is, by then, they have spend thousands or even millions and a good portion of their lives in Scientology. It's like getting a divorce after twenty years. It's fucking hard, I imagine.

It's the sunk cost fallacy on steroids when you think about the amounts that are said to have been spent.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

I definitely want to check this out, but I have to take Scientology information in small doses. Learning about it makes me want to punch something.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Scientology is the perfect example of what happens when people with money, power and status run a cult. It's insane how people fall for this shit. I'm interested to see the special as well, since they try to keep everything about Scientology under wraps.
“Love is the only bow on Life’s dark cloud. It is the morning and the evening star. It shines upon the babe, and sheds its radiance on the quiet tomb. It is the mother of art, inspirer of poet, patriot and philosopher.

It is the air and light of every heart – builder of every home, kindler of every fire on every hearth. It was the first to dream of immortality. It fills the world with melody – for music is the voice of love.

Love is the magician, the enchanter, that changes worthless things to Joy, and makes royal kings and queens of common clay. It is the perfume of that wondrous flower, the heart, and without that sacred passion, that divine swoon, we are less than beasts; but with it, earth is heaven, and we are gods.” - Robert. G. Ingersoll
