Someone did. A cop.
Better than a douchebag who isn't sure which end the bullet comes out of.

What's a bullet?

Why does this always have to turn into a political scramble? I hope nobody else gets hurt. I feel sick every time something like this shows up in the news.

Because it is political. If politics are responsible for handing out deadly weapons to every unstable idiot, it is political.
Though in this case it doesn't seem to have been a shooter. Our latest news report on someone with a knife, who prior to the main attack, drove his car into people.

I mentioned it a few times. Twice actually. One a terrorist attack in 1985 at the airport, the other one a domestic getting out of hand when working as a medic.
That's horrifying. I'd be traumatized for life if that happened to me. We are glad you are still with us!

Everything can be political. That doesn't mean we have to jump on the politics right away, especially when it concerns a tragedy like this.

Thank you! It was definitely a wake up call that this could happen to anyone. I was super worried because I heard the "shooter" was in the engineering building and I knew my brother was in an engineering building as well.

But everyone was quick to jump on the gun bandwagon.
Turns out it was a Somali refugee with a big knife. If someone had a gun they could have shot that motherfucker.
But at the same time, if he had a gun, he probably could have done much more/worse damage than just injure 8 people.

In both cases it was over before my mind even registered what just happened. That's what I meant by freezing. There are other things in my life being more traumatic than that.
The attack on the airport happened some 100 yards aways and when it was over I didn't stick around to look what happened. The second incidence, I couldn't even say how it went down. Just that police was already with us when we got there and the shooter got apprehended.
The only thing it left me with is kind of a que sera, sera attitude. That's why I'm not afraid of terror attacks or being attacked in the streets. I'm well aware that I can't do anything about it anyway, so why fret about the possibility?
