I mean Islam is pretty close to it's high point in terms of it's spread. Only a few areas, like Spain have regressed from being Muslim. I do have a concern that Islam has such a higher birthrate then most of the world. However I'm an optimist and think that eventually the internet will make everyone secular.

Modernity does tend to make most people have fewer children. When children make you poorer instead of richer, people tend to find ways to justify having fewer despite what their religion may teach. Considering they're not supposed to use artificial birth control, the average size of Catholic families in the USA has certainly gotten a lot smaller in the last 40 years.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I don't think Islam will rise to dominate the world. However, I do find it odd some on the left are sympathetic to Islam. Maybe not Islam the religion, but more likely because it's perceived to be oppressed by all things progressives hate. I remember reading something from Carlos the Jackal's 2003 book, “Revolutionary Islam” called on “all revolutionaries, including those of the left, even atheists,” to accept the leadership of Islamists such as Osama bin Laden in order to turn Iraq and Afghanistan into “graveyards of American imperialism.”
“Only a coalition of Marxists and Islamists can destroy the United States,” the communist revolutionary and convert to Islam wrote in his book.
Not to make this political, but I'm surprised the left didn't have a problem with Clinton accepting millions from Saudi Arabia where women can't even drive cars or go to the movies with men. Gay's are not allowed to come out of the closet and if they do, they risk getting punished with death.
As far as why Europe is letting in Muslim's in the millions and wondering why things are not going so great, you have to wonder what they were thinking. I'm talking about the leadership of those countries. In Germany it seems to be guilt, and a nihilistic and strangely narcissistic ideology which basically supports everything but their own culture, and thinks oppression is everywhere. So they are doing double time trying to screw themselves over to make up for past grievances. Cultural suicide, and basically the Coudenhove-Kalergi Plan for the EU.

You seem to suggest that you should regulate how many people of particular religious you let into your country.
How would that work, exactly? If someone says they're not a Muslim, are you going to refuse them anyway because they "look like one"?

I'd like to think this is starting to change though. Over the last few years, we've seen the emergence of the ex-Muslim movement as well as still-Muslim speakers like Maajid Nawaz, who have contributed some great nuanced vocabulary for how The Left hace allowed this to happen. If you're someone who is ideologically opposed to Islam but you want to do it in a liberal way that doesn't come off bigoted, you can now do that thanks to these people. This is (slowly) starting to change a lot of peoples' minds, maybe not on immigration itself but on how we have allowed immigrants and minorities to radicalise through ignoring bigotry within their communities.
When we've got fresh Syrian immigrants who are coming to Germany who are showing concern about how radicalised and conservative European mosques are, there's an opportunity there. We need to jump on that and have that conversation, make changes and stop accepting Saudi and Iranian investment into "Islamic instutitions" in The West.

I'm not sympathetic to Islam, but I am sympathetic to muslims.

Exactly my thoughts. You'll never catch me being soft on religion, especially Islam, but I will show sympathy to people.

The highest birthrates aren't in majority muslim countries. You didn't say it, so I'm not adressing you personally on this, but I even heard that birthrate argument coupled with polygamy. Which is entirely laughable, since even if every muslim was allowed and willing to take on several wives, the global male/female ratio of roughly 50 percent wouldn't change to suit their needs.

Statistically the highest birthrates are in Muslim majority countries. The two countries with the highest birthrates world wide are Muslim majority.
Niger 80% Muslim followed by Mali which is 90% Muslim. And 5 out of the top ten countries with the highest birth rates are Muslim too, the other 5 are Christian.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
