Why did you put her year of death while she was still in the hospital?
I updated the thread title after the news broke that she died (being a mod lets me do that).

Tell that to him. Do remember that he also used Glenn's death as an opportunity to steal the light from him and did so after pandering to anti science nuts to get votes when Glenn valued science and was a democrat.
You are absolutely right, not everything is about him, but you need to point that out to him, not me. Fisher's most iconic role was of a powerful woman standing up to a bully. Ironic I'd say.
So in other words, Trump made you do it?

I loved Fisher for her contribution to it, but I respected her as a person as well. Her honestly in regards to her drug use and how she was able to overcome it continues to inspire me to better myself. I just loved the way she carried herself and the way she spoke; she was "Hollywood royalty" but didn't act anything like it.
I'll genuinely, sincerely miss her. That's more than I can say for a lot of celebrities.
Honestly, star wars was one of the first movies i ever watched too She was one of the greatest actresses i've ever seen :/
She was an amazing person on a lot of levels, but be fair - the bolded bit is quite a stretch (or maybe you just haven't seen that many actresses).

You're the one who brought it into this thread. Please stop, it's not as if that orange faced fuck isn't splattered all over the place already.

Iroscato renamed the thread as soon as it was official. Also, I actually heard the news that she finally kicked it just as I was getting into the theater to see Rogue One. One group of people who got into the theatre the same time I did said she just died. Since this was long before the trailers even started, I checked my phone to confirm it (and, yes, I turned it off by the time the film started).
And, of course, seeing the impressive way they Fake Shemped her into the ending of Rogue One, I seriously have to wonder what route they'll take her appearance in Episode 9. Yes, I know I keep bringing up "what will happen to Leia's character in Episode 9," but, honestly, no matter how many other films she's been in (even if I saw one around the same time as she had her fatal heart attack), I still have a hard time thinking of her beyond Leia, and, honestly, it's a lot easier for me to speculate on shit like this (especially knowing what I do about the plans for the future) than grieve a lot of the time.

Totally unnecessary and overkill. Just cutting her side-bun hair thingies off would have been more than sufficient.

Interestingly, Ms. Fisher did an advice column in The Guardian this year. A few weeks ago, she did an advice column answering a reader's questions about bipolar disorder and alcoholism. She sounded open and honest in her column.
