Women get compassion? No, we're drilled about whether we were drinking, wearing slutty clothes, putting ourselves in situations where we would get raped. Our character is questioned. We're told we led men on, so we often keep it to ourselves, like many male victims. We hide it and see our attackers at social gatherings, on social media and sometimes even family events. Define "extremely rare", because according to a survey conducted by "Greenberg, Bruess and Haffner" (I can find numerous references to this survey but not the actual survey itself), 6.3% of rapists are female.

6.3% doesn't strike me as "extremely rare". Its basically 1 out of every 16 rapists.

I'm pretty sure it's way more than that. Just the reaction of the public is heartbreaking. People laugh at a man sharing his experience of abuse from a woman. Imagine that. There's actually a video about this on YouTube where a man shares how he was beaten by his girlfriend and locked inside a room and you could hear the whole audience laugh their ass off as if they were on a Jimmy Fallon show. It's truly heartbreaking.

A man that's been raped is looked at with disgust of how weak he must be. Many men doesn't even report these incidents out of fear of ridicule. When they share a rape incident with their friends their friends either congratulate him on getting raped or ridicule him by questioning his sexuality.

These kinds of things don't normally happen where I live, I could honestly not give a shit about some rando I'll probably never even meet in my life but once you read stories of these men that after getting raped actually got laughed at, its heartbreaking that you can't help but speak up for them.

Certainly, I just asked why you immediately rejected a survey without presenting any evidence that it was untrue.

I didn't say that rape of men by women was nonexistent only that it was "extremely rare".

I'm aware of that, but I fail to see how 6.3% is "extremely rare". Also, you neglected to highlight the 2008 study, which found that 46% of male victims were victimized by women.

If anything, I think those numbers show that more research is needed, but they certainly do not support the idea that female on male rape is "extremely rare" unless you want to propose a definition of what "extremely rare" means.

Extremely rare means "It's an anomaly for women to be sexually predatory. Rape is a male thing."

Both genders suffer denial over behaviors that are predominantly found in the opposite gender. Many women believe that women don't rape men often enough to warrant mention. Men believe that women are the crazy ones that break shit and key cars when they're mad. Women are crazy and men are violent sexual predators. You can't upset the status quo.

The stupid thing is I feel like at a basic level we all agree on these things:

Rape is a terrible crime.
Men and women can be raped.
Women are raped by men more than men are raped by women.
There needs to be more support for both male rape victims and female rape victims.


Arguing over how pervasive different types of rape, is IMO, just a distraction from the real issues.
