As well as finding this hilarious, Emma said that Elrond would have been a good choice anyway. If you're going to pray to someone, he's a lot more badass than some guy who lived in a crate for fifty years or whatever.

Lol my husband's patron saint is St Anthony so I told him about this earlier in the week and he scoffs and was like 'it's not hard to know him, he is always holding baby Jesus. How do you forget that about your saint?'

Well, his twin is a balrog, so that cancels him out.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
