Well. I'm voting in November.

I'm walking to the polls.

I probably should have participated in the primaries. Probably the reason why Democratic candidates aren't interested in exercising their mandate to push progress is because they know they can depend on their base. No reason to appeal to us because we wouldn't vote Republican anyway. All they have to do is get 51 percent of the people supporting them and they are in.

I'll keep my ear to the ground for primaries from now on.

I'm not sure you understood what I meant by revolution...it's happened before in this country, and it can damn well happen again. There are already signs. Big changes are underway, and it will be interesting to watch things unfold in these next ten to twenty years.

Why do you see a progressive tax structure as a good idea? I'm completely with you in terms of capitalism + public healthcare, but a flat rate tax system is fairer for everyone imo.

Since 1980 when that senile old fuck Reagan was elected the upper 1% have steadily increased their percentage of the wealth of America while the middle-class has been getting it shoved up their ass.


And please, don't give me this "the rich create jobs" horseshit. These CEO get paid for eliminating jobs and shipping them overseas where some Bangladeshi peon will work for a buck a day.

Meanwhile, they give the middle class a lot of phony issues ( gay rights, abortion, flag-burning, immigration, prayer in schools, "SOCIALISM!!!", etc., etc) to get them fired up. What far too many never seem to realize is that the same politicians who give them lip service on those bullshit issues are owned by the same corporate power structure which has been fucking them over for 30 years.

It is fairer in the sense that everyone is treated equally, as I believe they should be. The rich are taxed by the same percentage as the poor. The rich end up giving more (just as with progressive tax), but in a proportional way.

I don't mind if you support progressive taxation for your own personal reasons, but please do not pretend it is in any way "equal" or "fair".

I'd also ask how you think shipping jobs overseas isn't creating jobs. Of course it is creating them...just because they aren't in your particular country doesn't mean they aren't being created. There are people in Bangladesh that are very thankful for the jobs they have.
