Analogy would be to the closeted homosexual types seemingly running all the big protestant evangelical and fundamentalist schisms. The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

According to this link http://heavy.com/news/2017/01/alexandre-...eo-motive/ Bissonnette called the cops shortly after he did the killing because he felt guilty and suicidal and wanted to turn himself in. There's no apparent evidence that he's a muslim. The other guy that the cops had busted was released and is now being classified as a witness. Case solved.
